I have been looking to get a 4 point roll bar installed in my car (s14) and i have been calling around a few custom shops and one guy quoted me like freaking 1500$ for a bar, not like a full cage or anything. I was wondering if any of you guys have had somthing like this done, what did you pay and what did it include. and i hate the cusco cages but if i cant afford custom that looks like my only option, what do you guys think.

for a 4 pint you should not pay more than $800 installed for a custom bar.

call autopower and see if they can't hook you up with a bar that will fit the 14. i need to call them up and discuss getting one for my s13 vert. droptopsilvia on the forums bought one from them that was supposed to work with the top, but it didn't.

Yes, Autopower has a website but I'm on campus right now and don't have access to my bookmarks. Also, you might want to check out the pseudo-cage stuff at SPL.........

if you just google for autopower it will come up.

cusco bars arent SCCA approved and for good reason. they have very conspicuous bends and most likley would not support the roof in a serious roll over accident.

I'll give him a call and ask. I am sure he would need the car though.

Go to http://www.scca.com or even betterhttp://www.scca.com/getstarted/divisions.html

Find your part of the country and what region you would be in. then contact their race chairman and ask for someone who builds cages. $1500 is way too much for a 4 pt bar.

You might also check into http://www.kirkracing.com/I do not know if they do S14 cages/bars though.

PS--remember the SCCA people are volunteers --not the actual person selling the cage/bars--please be nice.

haha. i have a seat comming in the mail and a 5 point in my garage, so i am a roll bar and a steering wheel away from my saftey setup being complete :) talked to a guy today and i think i am going to get a basic 4 point bar with harness bar made from chromoly for 650. I can buy diagonal cross braces and stuff later on when i get more cash. what do you guys think about that price?
