Hey guys, i know a guy that is selling a 1990 Fastback 240 with a blown motor. The car is stock and in decent body condition with a clean title. He is asking 800 for it...I know thats kinda high for a blown 240, but i was wondering what would be a reasonable price to offer him...Either way i was planning to do a ka24de swap into it, so it seems kinda convenient. LMK what you guys think. Also, what exactly do i need to swap these engines other then the motor/transmission combo?

Whats the mileage like? power options? If its a base with say 150k+ miles id offer 600 ish. As long as everything on the car still works.

Around here bodies go for 500-1000. Since the 240 craze has gone up stuff around here isnt cheap anymore. You got lucky for 150.

I just swapped the motor in a friends 91. Girl owned it before and blew up the motor. He bought it blown and I had to replace the motor and saw a little hole on the drivers side part of the block on #4 cylinder. Come time to pull the motor I saw a HUGE whole on the oposite side and pieces of rod and block were in the oil pan which had a few holes. I take the oil pan off and the part that the starter bolts to falls off along with the rear bottom end of the block!

haha that rocks

i havent pulled the engine yet, but its ready to go (its raining in june in texas, what the hell)... from what i can see, theres a figure 8 hole in the side of this one, each loop bigger than a softball.and then i found pieces of the block wedged into the soft shield under the hood in the corner.that one took talent.i was talking to my old man... i told him i probably would have crapped myself if i did that to my own car... it must have sounded like a bomb going off underhood.

I just got lucky on one, im trading my old ka24de transmission, cp racing rear SB, 2 autometer gauges and $150 for an 89 fastback with like 205k miles, perfect body, bad paint, lots of extra parts, and extra running 24e motor.
