What should I look For when buying a used manuel trans

I am considering buying a used 5 speed trans for my 95 240. Is there any way I could tell if it is in good shape. Also, how do I know if my car has abs. Thanks

Not really much you can do, try and shift it. And if your car has abs, there will be an abs solenoid. It will have hardlines running to it, from the brake master. It will be on the pass side- back of the engine bay. In front of your windshieild wiper motor. Good luck Btw, If you need a trans, I have one.
