Hey everyone. This question have been harping my mind for a while. Should I go for the VG30ET turbo swap or finish off my N/A? Please give comments too if there's a 'why' to your answer.Thanks!-KevWhat should I do about my engine?

Yeah. A VG30ET will run me $2000 give or take 100 or so. I couldn't afford an RB even if I sold everything I had 2 of :-P-Kev

i'm sure the VG30DETT would fit, but i think the VG30ET would suit it best. might as well make the car fast with the original motor.

well if he wanted that he could have just bought a stock turbo. I wouldn't want to do that work just to bring me up to the same level as stock, I would want to outdo it. A VG30DETT in a Z31 would be a step up worth the time and trouble.

depends on what you're doing with it. If it is just a daily driver you want to be a little faster save some money and stay N/A. If you want it to be a lot faster the turbo will help a bit, but a bigger swap would help more. I'd stay N/A until I could afford a bigger swap (or newer Z). For the amount you would be spending on a good swap you could get a cheap '90s Z.

VG30DE(TT)'s do not fit without a lot of custom work, at least from what I've heard. Also, where the hell are you shopping at that it costs you 2 grand for a damn VG30ET? My friend just got a low mileage one for $390, IIRC. The engine hasn't been made in like 15 years. No one should be charging that much for an engine that old.

friend recently purchased a used low milage jap vg30et for 850 bucks. keep looking buddy i think he got it from rising sun engines.. the vg30et is a extremly under estimated and potent engine. screw a RB too much $$ unless you have it :) and a vg30dett waste of time and money..

i personally own a Z31 with a vg30et in it mine WAS a na i did a full turbo swap.
