Dealer keeps lying to me and saying that I need to replace my brakes as the pads are low. What do I do? Buy new pads and...rotors hehehe.

Anyways, I changed the rears out yesterday and I have the old rears now. I'm not sure if it's worth resurfacing them and selling them to someone who is in need or just tossing them.

I looked up the specs on the FSM and it said that the rears start out at 16mm and are serviceable through 14mm. So if they're more than 14mm should I post them up for sale?

Also, on a side note. Have any of you taken a look at the rotor/drum design on the rears? It's really quite interesting. Since we have rear drum parking brakes, the rotor actually acts as both the drum and disc.

Maybe Steve or Poyzinous can chime in with a better description.

Nate just trash them. Even it they are at 15mm. Resurfacing them will put them below min spec.

All they are good for now is wheel chocks, or paper weights.

Metal recycling plant. We took all of the leftover rotors, engine heads, and misc crap to one near me and came out with a pretty penny.

Ok. Thanks for the advice. I was hoping somebody else could use them, but if they aren't going to be safe, it's not worth it.

If your wife or girl friend has a birthday coming up, polish them and mount them on a spindle for a great Lazy Susan for the kitchen table. Should last forever and she will love you for the life of the gift.

Local recycler gives $135 per ton. Based on my rough calculations, I'd get somewhere around $1.25 for all 4 rotors.

haha. Ya, thats about what I was expecting. It will cost you more $$ in gas to get them to the recycler.

I just threw mine in the garbage. Not worth much more than that. We have a recycling bin though.
