So basically I spun a rod bearing back in may doing a rediculousy long burnout to shut some mustangs up.... so eventully I had my car towed to my friends house BRAD BROOKS (yes the guy who tunes cars). Long story short he had my car impounded for some reason which I dont know all I got was a letter from DMV saying this tow company is trying to get the title for my car (just a side note my father has a tow truck company). so I go on saturday to pick it up and anything that was worth something was stolen out of my car even the 4g63 I had in my trunk from my brothers car with a big 16g and 270 cams. So I called the police and they came and fingerprinted it found nothing. So I then decided to leave the car understand I am seriously attached to this particular car and YES I did cry about it. Right now im just confused about what I should do because I dont have much money or time to try and get this car back to a respectable condition because of my job and 3 month old daughter. So hopefully someone in a near vicinity can help me out with a shell (I can come pick it up). And also I need some CA Parts mainly a transmission and a wire harness for cheap because I have one short block in the machine shop thats almost done and I still have a long block in my back yard.... So basically I wanna stay with the CA but if I cant get the parts I need to get another 240 on the road then I will either just go with a different motor or just give up cars all together.... Please try and help me out.

Sorry to hear that you got jacked hard man. It always pisses me off when I hear of people like you who are very attached to something get so totally ripped off by a complete and utter failure of life.

Have you tried have a chat with this Brad Brooks fellow to find out what happened or why he had it towed?

Do you suspect him of robbing you blind? No saying you should go out and blame him for it all, just do a little investigating. hehe

Yeah I hav tried calling him but he wont answer the phone and I dont have much time because of my daughter and work.... but alot of people dont kno that I actually used to live i this car and it was my first car and the only thing that my father actually bought me mind you me and him never really got along ever so that car was pretty special to me... But the reason why I suspect Brad of doing it was because he never even tried to call me my father has a tow truck company and puls the impound lot said they picked it up because brad said it was abandoned and brad also took the tags off of it for some reason....

Wow, this is really a bummer considering the hardships and revelations you and this car have had.

This Brad situation sounds shifty to me. See if you can find some time to just meet him in person to gauge his expresions and attitude. You can find out alot about the situation when you ask him about what happened nicely and see what his facial expresions and overall comfort level of him.

Pre plan questions to be asked according to his comfort level of the previous question. Its easy to make someone uncomfortable if they are guilty of something and taken off guard with the correct questions.

If they questioning goes well enough he will become so flustered that he gets mad and that is a clear sign of something fishy.

Again, ask only obscure and not direct questions at the begining. Be nice the entire time. Do not get mad or it will ruin the questioning.

Dude that sucks. I can get the harness no problem. I have one spoken for but I know a guy here with a 200sx junkyard and it should be no problem to get another harness. Let me know through email [email protected] if you want me to see how much.

Yeh I can say the CA is probably one of my favorite motors to have ever driven and that says alot thats why I would like to stay CA but if I cant get the parts for another one I will just have to go another route...........

I have a bunch of CA18DET parts, right here in Maryland, too if you wanna check it out. I have a full CA18DET transmission as well as a clutch and stuff.

I have heard of this guy before, and he has been mentioned in rip-off problems before...

His "tuner" is pretty well known locally and posts mostly on Honda tech. That area of MD is unfortunately very prone to stuff like this happening... He used to be a nice guy.

How long was the car sitting. If it sits too long and you have unpaid bills ($25/day storage fee or some shop charges....tuning bill etc) he may have put a mechanics lien on it. Regardless it sounds like he probably removed the parts....and got it towed by claiming it was abandoned (tow truck people tow it for free in echange for getting to keep it to sell to junkyard....the only reason they contacted u was to get the title so a junkyard would buy it off them). Sounds like he was either gonna report it stolen off his lot, tell you he thought you came by and got it, or tell you he sold it to pay for your unpaid bill (which he can legally do if he goes through the legal process).

Regardless, sorry to hear about your situation. Good luck getting her together again.

That the thing I dont owe him anything I know him personally I knew him before he got big into tuning. My car was parked at his house that he was supposed to be renting to my brother but my brother backed out of renting it. And brad had said that its fine for the car to be there until he finds someone to rent it and when he does it would have to be moved. But I was never told that the house had been rented only thing that I knew was that my car had been towed away to an impound lot but when I got to the impound lot it was stripped with no tags. The tow truck driver noted that the doors were unlocked mind you I never leave any of my cars unlocked ever but a 240 is not hard to get into and also the driver noted that there werent any tags on it. SOOOO that leads me to believe that he took the stuff from my car and took my tags and tole the tow company to come and get it. His tuning website is brookstuned.com or something like that.
