What should i Do?!

I was in the parking lot at the grocery store today and my car was parked, a guy pulled out and smashed in the rear quater panel. He doesnt have insurance or anything but promised to pay the damage on the car, he gave me his address and i took the liscence plate # down, should I trust him to give me the money? or make a police report and probably never see money. He lives on an indian reservation and seems like a trustworthy guy and had like 7 kids in his car. I just dont know if i should make the police report or trust him to pay me.

i would use that adress you got from him and make a visit to his house and get the money, how long did he say it would be b/f he paided you??i wouldnt wait too long w/o anything happening though

yea, id give him some sort of deadline, or ask him when he would have the money, u hate to put someone in a tight spot, but u gotta do what u gotta do ya know

I'd say that if he isn't going to pay he isn't going to pay wether you get the police involved or not. How bad would you estimate the damage is? it may be too late, but I'd try to tell him he needs to pay for the damages within 24 hrs so you can have time to file a police report if he doesn't. that might light a fire under his a$$.

Do this, go park your car in a parking lot, go inside, come back out, then call the cops, tell them there was a hit and run, but make sure not to do it in a Walmart lot, or a lot with cameras. The cop will file it as a hit and run, and give you a police report. Then call your insurance, and report to them that your car was in a hit and run. They should fix it for you and your insurance won't go up.
