I have a JDM VLSD out of a 180sx. Im putting it into my 90' fastback 240. I need the flanges. The ones out of the open diff. dont work. Does anyone know where I can get them or what I should do? Thanks to anyone that can help.

Got mine from nissan. I think its a 300zx one. Well I just bought one (left side). It was about 2 bills. I just cut off 1/4 of an inch above the c-clip on my stock piece to match the height 180 sx one (right side). Worked great.

300ZX axles are not bolt-on....

You can:

1) Buy S13/S14 output shafts for the diff

2) Buy '92-94 Infinit J30 axles from the junkyard.

And have you checked the diff ratio...most those I've seen are 4.36:1...

Im not worrried about the ratio. Cant I just put the ring gear from my old one on if its not the same? I dont need axles. I need the output shafts. Would the output shafts of the j30 with axles work on the JDM VLSD. Oh, Its just the LSD without the pumpkin. you help is greatly appreciated Brian.

What you need are vlsd flanges. Not just any old s13/s14 flange is going to cut it. Vlsd diffs have a special coupler (fun) inside that cannot be actuated with the stock output shaft. I got mine from nissan. They are 200 each side, but you really only need the right one. The stock left one will work only after you cut 1/2" ("Hard as hell")off the top of it so it seal to the diff properly. Save $200 good!!!

I also said I think its a 300zx one. I'm not sure , but I have something to back up what I post!

Part no. 38220-92L00 Go check it and see what it's out of.

It's the no. for that special vlsd right one. Bolted right up to my stock axle.

Btw... You're gonna have to change the ring gear to the stock one or you are going to have gear mesh problems (noise)with you're stock pinion gear. Which could ultimatly lead to gear shearing (not good).
