As many know on here I have been trying to take care of this car. Well most recently I fixed the CEL problem with great help from Mike. Now my car has the engine light come on when ever I go past 65 mph. With no time left to get it smogged properly what should I do. I fare the dreaded injector problem is to blame for the CEL coming on. Two days ago waiting at the light I felt a chug in the front then my CEL came on. After that she doesn't roll smoothly I have to press the gas a bit. I haven't taken it in yet because I am back to working 7 days a week. The car now drives very heavy but still halls a** when I press the peddle. She is super clean inside and out. Heres a list of things I know need fixing.
EGR Valve CleaningFuel Pump ChangingTranny FlushOil ChangePossible coolant flushAll bushings and rubber in the front suspension including both control armsShocks all the way aroundInjectors
Heres what I've doneBrakes and Rotors all aroundBeltsPulliesOil Changed when purchasedNew Battery CablesThrottle Body CleaningMAF CleaningNew Tires all aroundAnd more I can't remember off the top, but I have all the receipts
I will drop her off this Friday at the mechanic if she last that long and have them poke at her. I will have them do the fuel pump but my concern is should I even spend money doing that will all these other issues. I know all can be addressed with time and money and thats where my question lyes. Should I drop her off have them do the EGR job and fuel pump, have her pass smog if that fixes the CEL light, and slowly bring her back, or should I take my losses now sell her and save up maybe in February purchase a 98 to 00 Q45. If I sold her I would be out of a car for about 3 months until I had the cash saved up for a newer model. Any real advise would help. Max, I was ready to take her to Jerry but all this new stuff happened. She has 167,000 on her. Is it worth it guys/girls?
