What's your secret to keeping exhaust pipe ends clean and bright?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I was wondering what's the best method to keep the tail pipe ends clean. What is the best cleaner or polish to get the black soot off?

That would be accomplished by not starting the vehicle. They will always get dirty when used. I just use regular soap and water. No sense in trying to clean the inside because they will get full of soot right away and you'll end up with water in your exhaust system which might just sit there and do who knows what.

Neverdull works well and leaves no scratch marks.

What is Neverdull? Is a cleaning pad or some type of cleaner? Where can I buy it? I don't want to use an abrasive cleaning pad like steel wool because I am afraid it may cause rust on the pipes.

Neverdull is a NASTY smelling cotton gauze stuff that comes in a blue can. You tear off "chunks" of the stuff and use it to polish any shiny metal. It does work well, but my advice is to wear gloves, as all the black that comes off whatever you are polishing ends up all over your hands. I have seen it at most auto parts chain stores.
