truth. when i was shopping for an all around useful vehicle after the s14 got totaled, i looked at a couple cherokees (with the 4.0), and they all had rust issues serious enough to cause concern. i'm sure it won't be a popular suggestion, but i put >40k on my 4.0 v6 explorer sport and it's still running strong. all i've done is tune-up (due for another one), 1 valve cover gasket, 1 injector (plus cleaning the others, done by a trusted shop), brakes, alternator, and battery. obviously maintenance items are done and i just put new tires on, but it's got 208k on the clock and it's showing no signs of quitting...yet.asoomal wrote:They don't..they really don't.
