Since we all like to work on our 'verts, I think it would be interesting to see what everyone is working on right now!

So, everyone post what your current modification, refurbishment, or install is. How long have you been working on it. Are you having any trouble with it? What will it do for your car. When you are done... what's the next thing on the table?

I'll go first.

Current Project:Installing KYB AGX shocks and Eibach Sportline springs. Should be about 2" drop and really help the appearance and performance of the vehicle. I think my stock suspension is a bit on the bad side anyhow.. so this should really help a ton. I am having a hard time with the install.. The bolts on the shock to hub connection are really really hard to get off... many sprays of pb blaster and nights to soak in finally helped me get the front left side off.. Yikes!

Next Project:I've got a faulty thermostat that sticks. The pressure buildup also ruptured a coolant hose.. making the car basically undrivable. (not a big deal since it's in the garage for the winter). But, replacing the t-stat (or getting rid of it completely) and getting a new coolant hose will be the next project. The only problem is that it will be a challange to reach w/out removing the intake manifold.. that's a lot of work!

current project: pulling parts off/out.

next project: i'm thinking about pulling the old ka out of the vert. if i do, i'm going to tear it down in my basement and rebuild it for boost. it'll probably take me a year to have it ready to fire up - mostly because of finances and my other non-vert projects (like my rally-spec DSM). i shouldn't have any problems because i'm good like that.

Current project: I'm planning on what mods I want to do. I am also doing research on things I don't know about and looking at prices so I know what I can work with.

Next project: Getting a job, saving up my money, and actually doing some mods. Some of the first mods i'd like to do are getting a new exhaust, rims, coilovers, brakes, and tint. I wanted to turbo the KA but I would love to be the first vert owner (I think?) to put in a CA18DET in so that is kinda like my main goal.

THREADJACK... Hey Seth I remember a while back you were asking for feedback on a new 240sxconvertible.com homepage design. Any updates? ...THREADJACK

This weekend will try to fix interior lights not working and cruise not working. Cruise hasn't worked since it was bought, narrowed it down to 2 items. Interior lights went out after headunit install, shorted either dimmer switch or TCU.

Next: Want S14 front seats. Getting Eibach Prokits, will save for AGXs before I install.Sidenote: when I had Sportlines on my old coupe they were too low and too soft, hope they've improved since then.

Main project is my coupe (front crossmember alignment and turbo install to happen within a couple months), so the vert is a back burner thing.

I have a monster list - all "little" things, but need to be done:

Wetsand / polish bodykit

Pull off VC / IC piping / heatshield / shroud / other SS bits (for polishing)

Fab up heatshield for MC

Install braided SS clutch line (replace old bent hardline)

Install dual gauge pod (steering column mount)

Buy / install boost controller (anyone got one?)

Install new Endura-Tech coilovers

Polish wheel lips

Refinish brake calipers (to red from gold)

Install SPL big-brake kit

Reroute PS line

Remove top mechanism, glass, and top motor (this summer)

Remove AC compressor / condenser and lines

Install torque damper

Swap out 4.36 VLSD for a better unit

....there's plenty more - car projects are NEVER done!

Next projects:-New suspension-Motegi Track Touge 17" rims and new tires (unless I come across a cheaper used wheel and tire combo locally)

FYI they were $22/each or so at Pepboys last month when I got mine. Hopefully they are cheaper somewhere else.

Continued Threadjack.. With everyone help, I've got a layout I like, and the ideas that I want to incorporate... I just need to find the time to put things together. If you want an idea of the layout... I really dig the Versa portal page... http://www.nissanversa.org/I will replace "purchasing FAQ's" with Online Gallery. Plus a couple other tweaks.. End Threadjack...

Eikon, I just replaced my thermostat last month. Unfortunately, the back pressure caused by my faulty one actually put a 2 inch crack in the plastic part of my radiator. You'll be happy to know replacing it only took me about 15 minutes and the only thing that needed be removed as I recall was the plastic raduiator fan cover. Even that was removed just to make it a bit easier. From there it was fairly easily reachable with an extension. The bottom bolt you can't see was the only real pain. Good luck.

As far as mods go. Right now I'm trying to save a little money so I can put new wheels and lowering shocks and springs on it. I'm tired of looking ready to enter a monster truck rally.

glyph, Unfortunately my thermostat will be much more challanging to reach on my RB20 than the KA engines are. It shouldn't be a problem normally, but I have a custom intake manifold that covers a lot more surface area that the old one and thus it makes it nearly impossible to reach the t-stat. It's gonna be tough!

But.. If I have to pull the manifold off.. so be it.

Mods (or should I say...to do list):

1. Cage. Just been lazy to get this done - but believe me, it will be done Q1.

2. My seats installed: Would you believe I bought 2 sparco race seats and they have been sitting for months?

3. Raise the boost! and ECU tune.

Eikon, My bad. I forgot you were sporting an RB20. Oh well, Sucks to be you. JK of course. Good luck to you. Sounds like a royal pain the way you describe it.

My to do list is as follows...

New wheelslowering springs or coilovers if I find some cheap enoughnew catback exhaustbody kitpaint job

By then I'll most likely be approaching retirement so I'll probably just opt for a somber medium gray or something equally soothing.

Paint job? The paint on your vert looks great...

But if you want to paint it gray (I like gunmetal) go for it. It'll be unique. But if I may throw an idea out there...have you thought of a champagne color? If you get that with a set of gold colored rims, it will look very classy...something that will go well with the approaching retirement.

Where to start >.>

Current Projects:Door conversion. I have my coupe doors stripped out and getting them prepped for paint. Shouldn't be too much longer hopefully.

Rear Z brakes. Just need to track down a N/A Z32 to steal the e brake assy out of it.

Upcoming projects:Silvia front end (guess that would be a sidegrade, not an upgrade <.<) and repaint of the car (paint being one of the few things i won't be doing to my car)

pondering doing a 5 lug upgrade (parts available to me for a good price has me considering it) and wheels.

New turbo and supporting mods (a ways down the way though)

Gonna rework the entire suspension as well. KTS coilovers and new rear sway bar. Adjustable alignement bits to follow.

New top is in the words.

Oh, but i need to win the lottery first

Winter projects:new battery, likely will be optima redtop (i think the old battery is bad)trunk struts ( i have scars on my head that need to heal)new window buttons (nubs are hard to push)another windshield (an unfriendly tree recently made a mess of my first new one)KYB AGX struts (summit racing has em cheap and i don't have to pay shipping)Tanabe GF210's (the wiggle of my blown stock suspension is driving me nuts)Hopefully I'll have money left for adjustible rear upper arms and front mounts to fix the camber.

Alpha, I thought you had a set of kick *** blue s15 seats, or I could be going insane?

Current Projects-Replace Cloth top(350$ install 350$ top)Fix front end damage from suicidal deer(600$ maybe less if I forgo painting it)Manual Swap(free transmission, 100 dollars for all extra items, probably free install)

Also I'm creating a plan to spruce up my interior. I plan on replacing the water damaged carpet and taking it all the way to the back where the back seat used to be, then fabricate a light metal sheild for the now exposed convertible assembly with a water proof lining....

Long Term Project-KA-T!

I'm actually in the process of doing a sparco evo install into my friends hatch... the easiest and most sturdy way to mount them AND keep sliders is to dissect the stock seats, save the sliders, and bend some heavy gauge sheet metal on a brake to bolt up to the stock sliders and the seats. each side would be one piece of metal. its very strong. thats when I'm doing on ben's. I'll try to take some pics. Ive got a sparco roadster myself.

Well, it's gonna be basic 4 point rollbar w/ harness & crossbrace. Basically SCCA legal style. it's at least $500+ (details haven't been finalized yet & I may have some other small tidbits added on it, but his starting price is 500 for basic basic rollbar so you have an idea). Should still work w/ my interior panels & top. Seats probably won't fit back there no more - not a big deal once I get that rusty **** painted, haha.

The guy building my cage is getting started in this, but welds lots of different stuff, competes in formula d and does his own cage - so like his lil side job, does very meticulous work and is totally working w/ me on the design. Found him through a friend's referral.

I'll post details on it when I get it back, hopefully in time for autox this Friday, woo woo!

I've waited until I receive these.

Current Project:1. Complete z32 brake swap including rear & e-brake2. Saving money for the next project

Next Project:I have too many to list, but I really want to do manual swap done. Collecting the parts and getting ready for the swap would be my next project.

BTW, I do all the all by myself after the work in my garage, so the progress is very very slow. I'm okay with it though. I'm a patient person, and I enjoy every moment...
