I want to know if it's as messed up as mine, cause i've been through some sh@t with my 93 hatch but for some reason i can't just let it go. Here's my story.

I bought my 93 SE hatch 4 years ago with 112k miles on it, 5 speed KA24DE with an intake, short shifter, eibach lowering springs and KYB GR2's. It was also covered with hail damage from front to back and some on the side. Paid $2800.

I fell in love with it on the way home. My previous cars were stock civics and i had my ricer fun with them but this was way better. The power (though not much at the time) now went to the rear wheels! I was pegleg drifting!

I drove it like this for 2 months and then one day the engine exploded on the highway in the middle of 5th gear. The KA was dead.

SR20 time! I went back to the shop i bought the car from and ordered up a SR20DET redtop engine, Koyo radiator, Greddy V-Spec front mount kit, an exhaust and other boost related goodies then sent it off to have everything put together while i went back to work to be able to afford all of this metal and electronics.

After the swap is done i go to pick it up and it smells like rotting carcass... While my car was sitting in the field in front of the shop waiting for its new engine and greddy parts to come from japan, a mother field mouse had its babies under my back seats. In 100 degree weather. They all died shortly after birth trying to escape from underneath the back seat.

I didn't care though the sounds and power that came from the new engine made up for everything. I drove home with the windows down because it smelled like rotting carcass and because i didn't have AC anymore.

During this next period of time there is a lot of wrenching on the car from broken tie rods or the turbo falling off the manifold, which happened 5 times with a megan racing manifold until i got a tomei piece to replace it. I have to say that this is the best manifold for the price for a daily driven sr20det engine.

Somewhere in there i replaced the tie rods and strut mounts with tein pieces, replaced the tension rods with megan racing rods and bought some new oem control arms with ball joints.

Since then I have moved to Connecticut. Two months after i get here i end up crashing the car on the highway, cracking the intercooler at the end tank, bending the end of the hot pipe shut and smushing the drivers side of the frame a little bit.

This should be the end of this story, but there's more.

Lol.

i bought a 95 black SE, from my uncle, it was auto.

realized there was too much rust.

bought a 95 ruby pearl 5spd (my current DD)

its got SOME rust, but its fixable.

anyways, i have yet to fix anything major.

i need to fix

1. rust, 2. cluster3. rear speakers (they dont work)4. struts5. power steering is kinda hard. :/6. other

maybe when i save up i'll sell it and get an s2000

Well, I had bought a 1991 auto se hatch for my wife for a 1000. It was a steal. It had 125000 miles and was pretty clean. After almost killing herself in the rain, I bought her an accord, and let the car sit up....

Fast forward a few months, I got sick of my best friend having so much fun with his coupe, I started playing with mine. It started with a 5 speed swap, and I/H/E. I burned up the original motor and rebuilt it. On the day we were to install the motor, I got a sweet deal on a ca18det setup. After a few ebay turbos, and a few timing belt and water pumps, I am still hooked on nissan's coke. lol. I love these cars, fwiw, I have always been around z cars, and have owned every chassis, except for the 370, and before I got hooked, I considered the S to be below the Z. To me, there is no other feeling than riding in my white hatch, whether it was when I had the KA, or with the CA now. . Sure not all the dash lights work at the same time, and my power seatbelts choke my passengers, but I am still hooked. These cars have a different feeling. They just fit me.

saw a ad for my 91 240 on cars . com or one of theose other similar sites. looked good in the pics compleatly stock only had 1 other own who was some old lady .

They were askin 3,900 for it so i figured eh what the hell ill go look at it. So me and my dad drive 3 hours one way. Honestly dident relize how far the town of blackwater was from where i live lol.So ne ways we get there and the car is not even parked on the lot its in an off site storage area for the not so good cars that they dont want to show off in front of the there store.

Well i get there tell the guy i wanna look at it so he seys ok, gets the keys and goes to fetch the car.

Finally 10 min or so later he pulls up in the car and and im like eh pretty much looks just like the pic from the out side so i go ahead and take a look on the inside. I swear to god the old lady that owned this car was NASTY and musta had a HUGE @$$ cuz ive never seen some one break the spot welds that hold the drivers seat togeathere.

so i take it for a test drive and it pretty much runs like s*** due to the no 4 injector bein dead then the top timimg chain guide had broken off and was riding on the timing chain. O yeah and the cam cover had like 3 or 4 cracks in it and spitin oil all over the engine bay. So i chat with the sales guy for a while as we are driving arround and i point out all the problems the cars has and he strats tellin me some sob story about how the owner of the dealer ship had given the old lady that turned the car in like 5k for it and they just wanted to get some of there money back. It was such bs.

well we finally get back to the dealer ship and the sales man tells me to come on in and he will go figure up a price for us so i say ok and we go in to his desk and wait a few min then he comes back with a pice of papaer with 3,900 on it. i just looked at himd and said HAHA you gotta be kidding. I pointed out all those problems and your still gonna try and charge me 4K for the car? not gonna happen. So he seys ok leme see what i can do so he gets his pice of paper and takes off into his bosses office well after a few min he comes back out with a new number 3,400 So again i say HAHA no not gonna happen and by this time i was like fnk it so i tell my dad lets go home.

Well we head out to the car and my dad is screwin with his garmin getin directions for the trip back and not 5 minutes after we left the building the sales man comes back out and askes me ( well how much were you guys lookin to spend? ) So i tell him flat out i have 2k in my pocket right now so long story short he agrees to the 2k and i get my car.

I gotta give credit to the KA24DE even with a chunk of metal riding on the timing chain / only firing on 3 cylinders and cam cover leaking oil everywhere the car still made the 300 mile trip to my house without breaking a sweat. The spark plugs in the car were so old they almost had no electrode in the center any more the terminals in the dizzy cap and the dizzy were so fouled and worn they were just basicly little carbon covered nubs.

Even with all the problems it had im still glad i bought it. Gives me somthin to work on and runs like a champ now.

one word = WOW!!! i would never spend tht kind of money for a 240sx that u just mention. Let alone, getting it from the dealership!!! hahahaha

90 hatch, running perfect, chipping paint, rust on hatch only.... paid $100093 vert (the best investment), Running crappy, but later found out it was ECU, transmission is shot, body is perfect. Still drivable, but paid only $500

I share an similar experience with you.. lolz

Started wanting an ae86.. but got an integra. After the teg i got a 92 se with 130k on it for 3500. The car was in kick butt condition when i got it, flawless paint, ran like new, and leather seats ^^.

My ka overheated on the highway one day.... and and it started to run like poop. SO SR20 time. Kyo rad, greddy Fmic, ehuast just basic stuff.

Whoa, so fast now in first gear ! no rotting dead mice or notthing but did had a few mechanical problems to be taken care of, master clutch cylinder/slave was leaking... clutch pedal squeaks..(wd-40), p/s leaks.... etc etc all piece of cakes. UNTil i wrecked. crashed on a local street cracked my intercooler, my whole front-end got reshaped, the whole rad support got pushed back. Took me like 4 freaking days to pull the rad support back out, the lights back out, bend back the hood fender and hammered back the metal stuff in front.. drilled some holes..

Now my 240 looks just like new front a distance but you can see the parts not lining up like a stock one.

Kinda left out alot of the details.. such as cursing murderously... kicking and pushing my wall... just alot of furustrations working on it.. beer helps. But at the end, its all worth it when I can easily pass cars at will. Or just having one person complement on how nice a car i have.. especially after two hours of washing and waxing.

THERE was once a man who had a 240 but his wife made him get rid of it because he had too many. I saw his ad on craigslist, and had to wait few days for my dad to approve it, once he approved, me and brother went to check it out. We test drove it in the snow and my brother approved, so i talked him down to 2600 and drove it home with a smile on my face. no rust, F rust..Strong Ka 116,000 miles.Its slammed on stances now. Actually i did buy it from a member on here Powerline. old member. Ive only got one ticket for reckless driving in a parking lot, but that was taken care of. SR is coming in march. The End

bought my 1991 from the 1st owner 4 years ago, virgin 240, 5 spd, a/c , pwr steering, interior was a 9 out of 10, exterior was a 8 out of 10, no mods, 1000.00 !!!!!!!! and its had been in storage for the 3 years prior to buying it, had 91k on the odo at the time

I looked for a 97-98 chassis for over a year to do a LS swap. I found one built on Ebay one night and for some reason made a low bid without even really looking at the car. I had no real intentions of buying it. Next morning owned a car! Had it shipped in and found out that it was really really rough. The body was in horrible shape and the swap was done really sloppy. So I totally disassembled it, painted it, put new interior in it, and I am now pulling the motor and upgrading to a 530hp L92 motor and rewiring everything from the firewall forward. I really should have started with a shell I would be about $5000 better off.

Junior year wanted an ITR then realized I loved S13's and saw an ad on cars.com. The place was in Alhambra so when I got to the dealership with my dad (first car) we took it for a test drive and he said it was definetly better than the last one (had mismatched paint everywhere and was clearly ina car accident). The dealership is called Allen Auto Co and they had like 4 other 240's and it felt sick just to be there. Other than the dead bee's in the back I was satisfied because I wanted it to be completely stock. Perfect interior and exterior, even factory radio but no antenna. So the guy charges us 4000 and my dad talks him down to 3500 and we got ourselves a deal. I didn't have my license at the time so I couldn't drive it home but I learned stick in it and I am more than satisfied with it. It just started having problems though( 2 broken injector o ring and all of a sudden burns oil like crazy )

i found my 91 se hatch at a junkyard they were asking 650 for it i asked what was wrong with it they told me all that they know is the fuel pump looked the car over like four time went and bought a fuel pump for a 100 dollars took the fuel sending unit from a 93 hatch put it all in and it started right up with hardly any smoke (had been sitting for about 6 months) told the guy i have 500 because i bought the fuel pump he said thats fine signed the title and i took it home with no brakes (bad decision i know) but the biggest smile on my face...... oh it was missing a fender also but thats taken care of now lol oh the engine had been rebuilt right before it got parked so the rebuilt engine had only about 600 miles and the chasis had 159xxx

I searched for a dad approved 240 for a while with no sucsess. found a supercharged carado, super clean for 3k. The day before i went to see it i told my friend. He said "fwd? no way dude. call garred is trying to sell his." so i call my friend garred and me and pops go look at it. Perfection. he wanted 2300 but my dad talked him doen to 2100 and he keeps his subs. then it started pooring rain hardcore and got dark right after we bought it. So i then had to learn to drive a 5 speed in the rain...at night... on the interstate... needless to say i was slidding everywhere. So i fell in love with the car but miss the roar and speed of my old cobra motor. So i found a flawless piggy shell with no rust for 200 bucks and now my ls1/t56 project is underway. When its done my first 240 is getting a big nasty turbonetics. The end...

unfortunatly i live out in the boonies and every other 240 ive looked at was either choped up by the pervious owner or was raped by rust and they all still wanted 1.5k + for them. So even tho the engine was in rough shape and the interior sucked the body was perfectly straight / no dents / no rust other then where the stock wing once was. so i figure eh what the hell

My boyfriend works at a garage and after work one night, him and his friends were swapping parts off of one s13 onto another. Once they were done, they pushed the 240 with all the crappy parts out back of their work. Well anyways, after a month or so of it just sitting out back, Their boss got fed up and said that It needed to be gone that day or else it's getting towed. The guy who owned it didn't feel like putting up with it so he was just going to drive it to some woods and push it in and leave it.

So my boyfriend calls me up and asks if I wanted it. Who would turn down a free 240? seriously lol.

It's a '93 hatch and the only problems it had was pretty much, a broken driverside window, exhaust leak, the passenger seat was broken, and that's pretty much it.

I never thought I could fall inlove with a car.. but it happend. lol.

I was obsessed with Supras and I couldnt afford it.

My brother told me to look into 300ZXs and 240SXs so then I found a 240 and it was love at first sight

Bought a 1989 SE coupe with some body damage on the quarter panel. After dropping the subframe frame rail damage was found. I stripped it down and junked the useless shell.

However in the mean time a bought a destroyed 1994 Vert. Thing had major rust, destroyed frame rail, and a no top and about 2 foot of water in it. I stripped it and cut off the quarter panel I needed and sold the car with a decent motor for 100 bucks.

I then found my 1991 Hatch on craigslist with a blown motor for 1200. Ended up being the same girl who bought some of the parts off of my 1990 coupe. I ended up getting the car for 700 bucks it was nasty dirty but it was in OK shape. And well now its a LS6 Powered S13.5

Found a sweet ride with dope rims on ebay. Flew out to Cali, got it checked out, and then drove it home.

Well then. The first car I ever bought ,being that I'm only 16,was a bone stock auto 95 240 for $1600 from a weed head.Had big plans for it....but 2 days after the purchase I slammed it(accidently) into the side of an oil tank on the driver side..totaled it because of a bent frame . So you know im like all depressed and what not.I decided I would start looking for the cleanest roller I could find because my engine was all good.So I see an ad on craigslist for a 95 240sx for sale for only $500.Had a clean body except for the rear right quarter panel, wich I already had from the first car so it was no biggy.It was five speed,sunroof,clean lookin rims.So I decided I would buy it and just swap the engines because he said it had a "wiring problem".So I call him and meet up. Look at the car,and it was a pretty good deal.O and keep in mind this is not a "240 guy" so he thinks its a piece of s**t and i knock down the price to $350.I buy it,haul it home.Took a look around the engine bay and it looked to clean to just not work. I took the battery out of the other s14 and slapped it in and the b**** started!!.So this idiot sold me a working 5speed s14 for $350 because he didnt know he needed a new battery .O and the guys name was Gordon but he called his self Geezy lol. So I named the car Project Geezy. Thats my story,I got lucky.

so one saturday i was sleeping when my dad calls me and tells me if i wanted a car i was like wtf, so i told him to bring it. it belong to this man that lives across my house he buys cars from auctins and sells them. so my dad brings the car i was 13 so i didnt know how to drive. so in the meanwhile im waiting for the car i call my friend to come so he could see it. once the car got to my house i got in it, it felt good it look cool too (i didnt know nothing about cars at the time). i wasnt liking the taillights, headlights and the fact that it was a hatchback so i hen i look in the interior it was nice and simple not like them old eclipse's that look like an airplane cockpit lol. so i told my dad if it burns rubber ill take it so i did a burn out and bought it for 1,300.it was nice and clean at that time till my friend crash it but i saved it and know it looks better well to what i like.it did went through the ricer stage but only neon lights thats about it and a bigass LA sticker in the hatch but i grew out of it.

No offense, but you sound you were about 13 umm.. half a year ago.

I, however don't have a 240 story.. yet. That will change around May or so.

well ive been a fan of the 240s and the skylines since i was about 9

but last year i got really into music and into my guitar and just wanted to be in a band an kind of lostmy interest in cars. when it was time to start looking for a car (it was about 3 months before i was to get my license) i was only interested in getting something like a subaru wagon. inside i still wanted something i could have fun with though, and then one day my dad and i were on our way to downtown vegas when a 240 passed us. at that moment was when i just said "thats it, all i will settle for is a 240."

so i started looking on CL and eventually came across a wrecked 1990 hatchback for $400.the front and pass side was totaled, but i had my dad drive me there to pick it up anyway because i knew there were some shells on cl. i got the car home and my dad gave me this look like why did i let him get into this.

anyway within a week i got a shell for $600 no rust and they even gave me a radiator, condenser, and some other stuff i cant remember. itwas good cause i was only using the wrecked one for the engine but the radiator wasnt any good.

the day after we got the shell my dad and i started to tear apart and put everything (engine, wiring, interior, ect...) in the shell it took about a month to get everything transfered and running right.but in the end it was all worth it ^_^

so now ive been driving my 240 around for about a month (with my license) and i love it.ive driven many cars but the 240 deff is my favorite.and soon i will have a coupe at my house and when i get it i will start a build thread

and incase your all wondering i did pay for the car(s) myselfi had money saved up and was able to use it for whateverand my dad did help me with building the car i dont want to take all the credit for putting it all together because my dad helped alot

89 was a winter beater. blew headgasket. sold it after blowing motor and AT tranny90 was a parts car.91 was the worst car ive ever bought. More ROt then idk what. DONT buy cars in the dark 92 is my daily and can be found in my sig.95 will be missed.........alot

I could go on and on and on about my hatch that ive owned for 2 years. but ill save you 5 minutes of your life

Car: 93 240sx vert, 1990 pignose hatchback roller

I played gran turisimo and bought a silvia on it. Then kept talking about getting one. Finally I started looking into it and found you can convert the 240's to silvia. So after my lease was up for my altima se-r I hunted around locally for a 240. I could only find 2 both happened to be verts. I had almost got a hatchback with a blown headgasket for a few hundred dollars before that but didn't have the space to fix it. So I waited and got the vert. It took me like 2 weeks to convince the bank to give me a personal loan with no collateral for it. After some time of waiting they gave me the check. I then took it to the dealer and they couldn't take it so I finally got one of the salesmen to take the check in his name then I promised to go back up if they couldn't get the check cashed to pay for the car. I had to take a day off work because of that crap. But I drove her home that day. Then about a week later the waterpump went out. I replaced it and the thermostat. Then the transmission went. So it's in the shop for nismo transmission and engine mounts, a five speed swap, and new tension rods. It was still waiting on parts last I checked. They should get it finished up this week.

First 240 i bought off one of my gf's friends. He didnt sign the title when he bought it in pen and tired to erase it so i looked like i was the second owner. He then used white out where the orig owners name was and signed his. The guy at the dmv took one looked laughed then handed me the replacement/lost title form. The second was much easier. I told a buddy of mine i was looking to buy a new car after selling my first 240 to pay for my germany trip and 45 min later i bought his. Worked out for both of us.

this i s how i bought my 240 for no money!!

well i recently sold my crappy '99 eclipse gs to help my mom pay off some billsand i was rollin in her rav4 4 about 4 months btw the vvt-i on that sucker is preety sweet..anywho i just lost my job and was completely broke and my mom was tired of me rollin in her car 24/7 so she told me to find a job and save up for a couple of months and get a car and that i couldnt take hers anymore...well i wasnt plannin on takin the bus or using my legs 4 a couple of months so i go into my bank and ask for an auto loan...they still thought i worked at my old job and was makin my usual 250 a week so they gave me a 3000 dollar loan.....long story short searched craigslist for about a couple of days and bought a red '93 240sx from an older lady that only used the car to travel to and from her college about 2 hours away....CLEAN TITLE NO RUST NEAR PERFECT CONDITION 120k no oil leaks RAN LIKE A CHAMP!! she sold it to me for 2000!!took her to my bank and signed it rite over....i was so broke at the time that i didnt even have gas money to drive the car bak 2 my house so asked her for $20 for gas..so i pretty much got it for 1980 lol.. still makin payments got like 700 more to go...its taking 4ever since im only payin 79 bucks a month!! the 240 is the 1 in my sig...
