Nothing is wrong really as he is complementing the car by think its newer than it is. :)

In all seriousness I see it all the time. It Could have been worse as he could have said it is a 2002-2006 Q45 (Which would a insult). I am just kidding.

Looks like a clean car otherwise.

It looks a little older than a 99Q. "Needs fuel filter" probably means it's not running right now because the fuel filter is clogged, AKA....will need a new fuel pump before you can start the engine to determine if it's driveable. Otherwise, $800/obo is not a bad deal if you're looking to glean parts and can get rid of the carcass when you're done.

The pie pan wheels were on (90-93) ? Yet the hood says 94-96?

1994 had polished pie pans, 95-96 had the turbines

That body is likely rust free, so from the perspective of a Canuck, it would be a shame to see it go to the crusher.
There is another angle you could look at it from...

$800 for the car
$300 for new fuel pump
$50 for used FPCU (maybe if I get lucky)
$100 for used PS pump (see above)
$300 to get there
$600 for gas to bring it home
$200 for customs fees, etc,
$125 for food
$25 for safety inspection

For a total of $2500 I could have a rust-free Q45 up here in Canada which could probably be sold for $4000. G50s sold for $72,000 new up here and a rust-free examples of older cars are worth money.

Of course a scheme like that is a minefield of pitfalls and potential tragedies and I think I am too sane to attempt it. :couch

Way too many chances of gremlins...this is not a money making proposition, no way. How they think it is a 99' is sorta funny, i would wonder if the cars docs would all square up too....many someone would want to part it out, that woudl be the only thing I'd do with it.

I am baffled why people think parting out a G50 (1990-1996) Q is easy or fast. I have Q parts for almost three years now!

I can understand doing favors for friends with parts (Selling them cheap) but some people want too much for their parts or buyers want to pay so little. I wish more people up here drove Q45's as the junk yards up here want gold for their parts. $200 for a ABS Actuator with 140K mile and 18 years old!

Hell I know a local NICO member and former Q45 owner who is still parting out a Q45 longer than I have been.

So like Q45Tech said: "Find and buy as many color matching (Interior/Exterior) and same year range (1990-1993, 1994-1996) as you can. Of course if one could find the same year as their Q45 they would be better off." Loosely quoted.

At $800 there isn't much to get your money back if the interior is in good shape. i think the seats and other main interior could sell quickly and easily to others here, but the rest your probably right. I guess i speak quick about something that there is zero chance I would ever do :)
