The window shudders about half-way when going down. A lot of silicone spray lube helped for a few up/down cycles, but the issue returns. Anybody have suggestions on what to examine inside the door?

It sounds like the bottom frame work with the drive attachment is coming lose from the window holder and it can be heard just as soon as you start. In time it will separate.

Just a guess, going from sound

I removed my driver door panel and sprayed some white lithium grease on the window regulator and tracks to stop it from shuddering and jumping when going down. Seems to have worked, hope it lasts for a while before I need to do it again. I should probably do it periodically for all the windows to ensure they keep working smoothly.

That white lithium grease becomes hard too quickly and cause other problems. Gulf oil used to have a Barimol (sp), it is good but sticks to everything.

I use a moly grease available as a paste that is exceptional for those hard to get to placed and it will stay, wont come off, will not harden up.

Try spraying a silicon lubricant on the side panels of the window, use lots to clean out and then spray again.

With the 2 areas lubed the window should work much easier.

When you wash the car do not spray the windows with a garden hose...it washes out the lube on the sides.

I have some wheel bearing grease in the garage. I also have some NGLI #2 lithium base grease with moly (for driveshaft lubrication). Which would be preferred? Next time my driver window decides to act up I'll use one of those instead. I probably should've done that in the first place but the thought hadn't crossed my mind - spreading the grease around with my finger would have been a ton easier than using a spray can and overspraying everywhere (including on the window, oops).

Glad it's greased up, wheel bearing grease is fibrated and the bar for the window would hold onto somewhat, I would try it over lithium based soaped grease, if nothing else it (wheel bearing grease will remain as grease.
