Just put a set of sport wheels on my G. They all have a blue dot on them like my old non-sport wheels except these dots are a bit larger. Did all OEM wheels come with this dot, and is there anyway to safely remove it?

I believe the dot came on the tires and not the actual wheels.

No, it's definitely on the wheel, all 4 of them in fact. Take a look at the picture I put up. The dot is at the 3 o'clock position on the lip of the wheel.

What type of tool did you use? My concern is leaving a scratch on the wheel that would be more unsightly than the dot itself.

I used my fingernails. I too, was wondering about this dot, so I was messing around with it and tried scratching at it and they peeled right off. The 4th one seemed thicker and I couldn't get it off. It's like scratching paint or liquid papaer off with your nails.

Well played I-Line. I thought I was the only person that knew that kind of useless knowledge.

The paint dot should come off with some mild soap/water but may require a light application of bug & tar remover or if that doesnt work try swirl remover or of it is really stubborn a little light compound. Likely you will not need anything more than a lil elbow grease with suds.

Good luck!

I believe the mark is used for matching with the tires at the factory. Something to do with lightest part of the wheel with heaviest part of the tires or vice-versa.
