IS this a NIssan board or what.....why is there a article on the front page....titiled:

Rob Stanley's Silvia

I think this give a very very very very bad name to the nissan communitly...What makes this car a silvia besides the Silvia badges that he bought, and stuck on the car?????????

people that dont know about the nissan silvia, could come here to learn...click that picture, and get a totally misleading article. Thats incredible to see something like that on our NICO board.

I really hope something could be done to presearve the integrity of the Nissan community, and not title articles, or headlines with something like "nissan silvia" , when its a 240 w/ badges...not to start a race war...but the word rice would also be used....i dont care how many ricey cars they put on the page or anything, but dont tltle it nissan silvia.....

does this make sense to anyone? i clicked that thinking i was going to see a silvia, and almost lost it.....

if i didnt know anything, i woud now think the silvia has a KA24de motor, and was LHD....this is totally misleading, and i would have expected more from the NICO moderators, and editors.I would totally understand if it said "rob stanley's 240sx w/ silvia badges" or something like that...i mean, if i put my car it would say 240 w/ sr20det....I atleast thought i was going to read it had an SR, but a silvia with a KA motor? are you guys kidding me? i think we have to keep the intellectual level of the article on par, and not mislead, or misrepresent a car in the Nissan world like that.

A lot of people in the 240SX community are very sensative about that Fred, its a repercussion of "JDM conversions."

While I personally make comparisons, I generally say I"m going to have a 240SX with CA18 and Strawberry face, or whatever the case may be. I personally prefer the name Silvia, or 180SX, and when the work is done on my car I'm not sure what I'll call it. : ) What it comes down to is no matter what you do, some people feel you still have a 240SX w/ Silvia conversion and SR20, and others feel you have a Silvia ( assuming you have the necessary parts like body and engine. ) Its just a sense of style, and when a person takes a S14 and puts Silvia badges on with no other work and calls it a Silvia, people take offense. I dunno, its a pretty touchy subject, and I unfortunately don't know any way to compare it to the Infiniti world other than calling a G35 a Skyline. : )

Like i said..its a board where people come for info...something like that is pretty misleading...its bad enough to have a silvia motor in there, and call it a silvia, but to have a KA24de, w/ badges,a nd call it a silvia, comon people...
