Ok, so I have an 07 Altima with the standard stereo which doesn't sound too shabby. Of course it doesn't sound good either, but it's decent. I wanted to upgrade without losing the factory look so I installed a Fosgate 2002 amp running a PL1-110. I just installed a Polk Audio DB650 into a single side on my front door and noticed that the factory Blaupunkt speaker sounds much louder. The Polk is a 4-ohm and the Blau is a 2-ohm so I was wondering what options I had WITHOUT adding a 4-channel to run my speakers (front and back)? I'm also adding the polk DB690 6x9's to the rear deck. I just wanted to run all of the co-axials off of the OEM deck power, but am I screwed and would I need to add another amp, which I really don't want to do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nothing you can do with what you have. Best route is either buy an amp for the front speakers or get appropriate ohm speakers.

I agree with audtatious, not much choice in this matter. I have seen 2 ohm mid/tweet combo's but not in awhile and can't remember who.you will be much happier with a quality after market amp to power the high end. Even the best that the factory has to offer can't compete with a good high quality after market amp. Just make sure you buy specs and not bells and whistles, check the true RMS power output along with signal to noise ratio ( basically an amps ability to convert signal into music rather than noise.) A high db rating is best ( over 90=good; 95+=better).good luck!!!

Thanks for your replies. I really don't want to run another amp in my car so I'll stick with 2-ohm speaker upgrades for now. I know the new reference infinity's are 2.65-ohm speakers so I'll just install those until I decide to really upgrade my system. It should be a decent upgrade over the factory Blaupunkt's.

Another question: would it be ok to run 4-ohm 3.5" in the dash when my other 4 speakers are 2-ohm'ers? I know the volume/power output would be different, but they're only for front fill. Or would it be best to just leave the factory's in the dash?

Leave the factory speakers unless they are too loud (or can you adjust them down?)

I was thinking about doing that but I'm going to get some distortion from the 3.5" when the volume is turned up after my reference speakers are installed. That's why I wanted to change out the dash speakers for aftermarket, but the only "reasonably" priced 3.5" I could find were 4-ohm speakers. Any opinions on this matter?

you are in a bad posistion for what you want to do w/o adding an amp for the highs.Orion makes a nice set of hcca components in a 2ohm configuration but you must find a way to bypass the factory crossover to use the orion crossover.I would think the cut off points for the factory speakers wouldn't be sufficient for the orions.
