Hey ya'll.. its been a while since I have posted, but once again I need some help. I still have my 2003 I35 in which I dumped some money into after my deployments to Iraq. I have gotten married and now I have to "slow down" on my mods for my car.. I am sure ya'll know how that is.

Anyway, here is the problem.

I have replaced the engine, replaced the transmission, put Jim Wolfe S2 cams, Cattman performace headers, Cattman Y-pipe, Cattman full 3" exhaust, Fast cat, Progess springs and shocks, Cattman rear sway bar, and a Level 10 valve body. I am needing to do something with my ECM for the engine. I know that when I hit the cams, I am running lean and my power drops off. I remember something about a company out in California that reflashes Infiniti ECMs for the mods you tell them. I am wondering several things, who is that company and is there anything you folks know of that will allow me to program my timing, rev limiter, fuel map, etc. on my own?

Anything you can tell me would be useful!

Thanks,

SGT Lee Parks.

You may be thinking of Technosquare. Though I found this on their contact page: !!ATTENTION!! ECU reprogramming service is not available due to the absence of Engineer. http://www.technosquareinc.com/contact.htm

I think that your best bet at this point is something like an e manage. You could pop in larger injectors and an safc, but I don't think that you would get the gains that your car could with that set up.

Well, I have contacted several different reprogramming companies and its getting clearer that I am fighting a loosing battle with this. Does anyone know if I can get the Infiniti dealer to put the G35 flash on it and IF that would show any improvement? Also, I am unfamiliar with the emanage stuff... any one in particular?

Thanks,

SGT Parks

I' m not particularly knowledgeable about the emanage units. The Maxima ecu is fundamentally different than the Z and G units, and I'm pretty sure that is the biggest problem that the 5.5 gen has. I've been doing a half-assed job looking at management for our cars and have pretty much concluded that piggy backs are the only option that we have now that technosquare is out of the ECU business. I know that AEM has a piggy back as well as Turbo XS.

What I would do if you are planning on having someone tune it for you, is ask around for a good tuner in your area, and get in touch with them to see what they like to use.

I just checked them out and neither one (according to their websites) have anything for the 2003 Max or I35. I guess I am out of luck then..

No one is going to have a plug and play product for these cars. You'd have to be using their universal application and wiring it in. I know that the Turbo XS piece has been used with some success, but I haven't heard to much about the AEM. I know the big downfall is only being able to retard the timing, which is a bit of an issues when you can't advance the distributor and adjust everything back from there.
