it's EGR/PCV

Exhaust Gas Relieve/Positive Crankcase valve

Releases remaining exhaust gasses via channels in the block way up to the head, and can be rerouted to the intake for air pressure purposes

Presscott and Ignacius - i'm talking about the little one which ends over the coolant hose. just a small diameter vacuum hose...i think you guys are thinking the one with the breathe on the end.

pcv is what comes out of the crank case and he has a filter on that. If it comes from the top of the transmission its a vent.
