Purchased a new set of Continental tires and they had a white coating all over the tires. Does anybody know what this is?
Though its not the case, it looks like mold or fungus has evenly grown on the tire when sitting in the warehouse. The best explanation I've got from a tire shop is that it is excess of a coating used to prevent the tires from sticking to the tire molds in the manufacturing process.
It seems like the tires where manufactured only a few months ago (DOT: LMTW PX BU 1903), so it shouldn't be oxidation.
Thanks in advance.
