Mine's running good. Recently drove it from my hometown of Huntsville to Auburn since I'm attending college here (I think Tim did this exact thing with his CA18 back in the day).

Needs an oil change, and the relay went out on my e-fan thermostat at the very start of the last drift event I did (typical Advance Auto model. Hopefully they have replacement relays so I don't have to drop $30 on another unit). I needs the PCV hooked up or some replumbing of the catch can setup because I think it's causing the interior to smell fume-y or gassy, mostly when going up hills on the interstate. Also needs an exhaust, cause open-downpipe is LOUD!

Other than that, seems to be ok. Fires right up on the first turn, even when cold, and it's now idling ok ever since I fixed a kink in the vacuum line between the cold pipe and the splitter that directs to the air regulator and idle control. Still not perfect, but it's not going higher than 1100 or lower than 600, and I don't have to heel-toe when coming to a stop just to keep it running.

Drift vids and/or running vids available on request. :)

How's yours?

Mine is running, started for the first time about 6 weeks ago, fuel injectors clean last week mad it heaps better. Seems to idle a bit high but i'm not worried about it until I get closer to having the car ready for rego.

Mine is running well and I've FINALLY gotten my noisey lifter issue resolved. It was a combination of the previous engine builder failing to replace the galley plugs in the crank and a bad oil pump (it was new). Got the crank fixed and put a new oil pump in and all is well.

It's starting to get cold here, so I'm having some cold start issues, but that's a simple matter of me tuning it. Once I've got it dialed in, I won't have any issues.

I still need to get to the dyno and get a full tune on it. Right now I just have a street tune up to about 10psi. Turbo should support 25psi +.

Other than that the engine is great. I've still got power steering, A/C, some suspension work, the body work, and stereo to do. I'm planning on having it done over this winter.

Let's see, car #1 (1993) 240sx coupe with CA18DET runs just fine. This car last dyno'd @ 536whp with 486 lb/ft of torque a couple of years ago and engine is perfect health. The car has A/C and P/S and has very quiet exhaust which makes it very driveable on a daily basis. The only problem is I don't drive it that much, so it just sits in the back with the others until I have a need for speed and a paint job is long overdue.

Car #2 (1993) 240sx hatch with CA18DET runs just fine. This car is actually for sale and have nearly the same parts as the other 240 except for the turbo, manifold and head work.

Car#3 (1988) Nissan sentra B12 4-dr (ahh, my roots) not running A.T.M . This car is undergoing serious upgrades around the engine and I can't wait to share pics and let you guys here this thing run. I had it running before, but I sold the custom intercooler and piping to one of our members, so that he can get his own B12 project off the ground.

Unlike many of you, I don't have the time to tinker with my cars like I use to. It's the price you pay when you have children that are athletic and always participating in sports as well as having a job (thank god) that keeps you busy as much as 16 hours a day. Soon grasshopers :)

Mine's running well as usually. Nothing special. Still needs the same stuff as usual (namely a rebuild, my motor has never been opened before :) )

I just put all the interior back in it. That was a hard lesson learned, but I will never fully gut a car like that again. It's not too bad until you take the dash out, then everything that has to do with heat and A/C. Biggest PITA ever.

I'm probably about to pull the motor, though. I'm thinking I'll fix the bottom end in the CA16 that came out of it, drop it back in, then sell the car. I could use the money right now and it'll make way for the build I've been planning.

Mine is running decently. Just put the AEM EMS in and figured out my AFRs are extremely rich. I'm thinking the stock fuel map is just conservative or maybe the 02 snesor is just dirty (have never changed it) but I have no idea. I'll be checking vacuum lines as well.

Mine is doing great. Starts right up, idles fine, no cooling problems, but i do have some nasty clutch slippage and need some new synros and such. Working on redoing my fuel system, but that has been put on hold since i hit a curb which as caused me to have to redo almost my whole front suspension which needed to be done anyways. When it was on the dyno it was doing a measly 225 hp i believe hope to up that soon which shouldnt be hard at all. All in all i love my car! and im sure anyone that has a ca18det would agree to that statement.

Terrible attitude Mike. I see Level 5 chassis lightening and a burrito and Red Bull powered hybrid drivetrain system.

It does seem like a very long time...

CA is fully built, 1.9L, forgies, Nistune, 2871r @ 18psi, HKS 256 Cams, 7700rpm - sounds like a pissed off animal.

Good to see another CA18 actually getting drifted!

Less than 2 weeks away from my next event. Here's a video from the last event I did 3 weeks ago (I'm the red hatch):

I was having a little bit of bog at the end of that opening sweeper, after you're all slowed down from getting the apex of that hairpin and setting up for the switchback. Seems like it's just the severe lack of balls the engine has when it's out of boost, but surprisingly it felt much better when bumping the boost up a hair. Overall, I thought it was really good for a full interior street car that has been up and down the state of Alabama several times now for college duty!

Need to fix:
Washer bottle leak, alignment, squeaky interior, ps leak

Fixed tonight:
balanced tires, fixed wire powering my guages, cleaned off a crap load of ps fluid from my underside, tightened blots to the dump pipe that wiggled loose, and added some exhuast putty stuff cause of a few tiny pinholes in the welds

Runs mint :D I am expecting a holder for my phone so i can record some driving to share with ppls.

My engine is currently at CNC Engine Dynamics in Winchester, VA. Having the motor bored to 84mm. Finally dropped the money I needed to, and Im on the quest for 500hp.
84mm Wiseco Pistons
K1 Tech H-Beams
ARP Rod, Main, and Head studs
Clevite 77 Bearings
Having the crank balanced and polished and a few other things.
Also picked up a ball bearing Precision 6262 to make the power. Still deciding on how aggressively I can port the 8 port head, which cams to go with (Tomei 270's?), and a few other small things.

Hoping to have the build finished within the next 2 months!

CA in Cefiro - T04e powered, crank won't spin freely (probably le f***) Maybe 2 kms in 1 year.

At about 5000kms on my forged ca in the datsun 510, im running nistune, Greddy T518z, z32 maf etc. still has a very basic tune on it (factory timing maps and fuel maps close to
Stock aswell, just with the vr4 450cc bluetops dropped in via nistune) running 1bar boost here but when not skidding up usually running 18-20psi max. Can't wait for a dyno tune as its never seen a dyno yet.

20 000km since I finished it last year (october)

forged rod+pistons, t28 from an s14, stock injectors, stok MAF, elbow back exhaust, FMIC, HKS camshafts.

Some track events, drove it every day as a DD apro. 8months, no major issues (a little water leaking due to an old hose, and a weak alternator)

It'll go totally naked this winter, for a deep chassis work (welding points, no rollcage, it must look like a normal car), with some special parts (body work+ a big engine evolution to push the LanEvo of a friend ^^)

Heres the condition of my car :) more to come soon. A better more sturdy mount is in my future too, but for now it works ok.
