Yeah, more of my tiny V8 addiction. But this time I'm looking backward, not forward, and calling on NICO's endless supply of automotive trivia knowledge. Let's talk <4.0 liter V8s in production cars over the last fifty years. Flathead Fords and Ferraris are out, though: I'm looking for a little newer and a lot higher production counts.
The smallest commonly-produced V8 I can think of was in the third-generation Taurus SHO. Ford basically added two cylinders to the Duratec25 and ended up with a 3.4 liter V8. It actually
sounded pretty damn good, but it was ridiculously gutless (230hp). It also wasn't particularly refined by V8 standards, largely due to its V6-inherited 60-degree V angle.
Any other good or forgotten examples out there?
