I hope I haven't over looked another thread already done on this...

What's happening with the Cube? My understanding is its coming to the US in 09 with the V's 1.8.

Wouldn't this -crowd- Nissan's low end lineup with Sentra & Versa?

Where will the Cube be made? Will it replace the Versa? Tiida was already a few old before it came here - thanks.

It's still being kicked around and I believe the earliest it could be here would be 2010 model year.

The L. A. Times covered it in January of this year, including review and arrival in the U. S.:

Sounds to be 6 months earlier than I would have expected.

I agree... those wheels gotta go. Some super light weight silver 5 spokes would look very good, imo.

Other than that, if the rear seats fold completely flat/flush, I might be in the market for one in a few years.

Wonder if they have plans for a diesel that gets even better fuel economy.

EV World has a picture of the Cube concept car in an electric version.

I wonder if that offering is coming to North America as one of the electric cars Nissan was planning to bring. Seems like Nissan has been pretty secretive about a specific electric model they're bringing, but an electric Cube would make sense.

That is the 2008 (not for US) Cube used as a mule to test their electric system. It's just a concept with no production plans. If there are plans to go electric with the Cube, they are keeping quiet. Nissan did say they want to have a electric vehicle or vehicles by 2010.

The made for US 2009 model will probably be shown at the LA Auto Show in Nov. along with the new Z and G37 vert. All of this has been covered on Autoblog.com.

I think it'd be wise for Nissan to offer something smaller than the MR18 (as well as). The HR15 would be a great engine for the car, especially considering a lot of it's potential buyers.Offer an HR15, MR18, and maybe even an MR20 or QR25 hotted-up version, and they'll be doing well.

It's also still not clear (at least not from anything I've read) whether it will be the current Japanese Cube with minor changes or a whole new model that we'll get when it does come here.

It's been widely reported by journalists who have attended Nissan 360 that it will be a new car. I've seen it, but I can't say any more than that.

I had read that a LONG time ago, but none of the more recent stuff has said the same, so I wondered if plans had changed (after all, we got the Versa "late" so it wouldn't be that odd). I kind of wish it wasn't an all-new model. The current one serves the desired purpose fine and is about as attractive as a tiny square hatchback can possibly get.

I hope the new car retains the current car's charm. Look what Toyota did with the xB for crying out loud. I want it to keep the wraparound window styling. I also hope the wheel wells don't grow much (if at all). These days American market cars look silly with anything smaller than 18 inch wheels on conservative cars. The cube needs to look good with 15s.
