Hello yall! This is my first time posting on body-on-frame NICO forum. Please bear with my poor grammar. I have a 2008 Altima 2.5L with 140,000 miles
I always believed that
body-on-frame is safer than uni-body, and I live in a city where rush hour traffic people change lanes like maniacs.
Being a Nissan fan, I have looked upon all possibilities.....
1. Has to be capable to carry 4 people comfortably (4 door double cab)
2. Can run 87 octane, and still remain decent mpg. I don't need to tow anything for the rest of my life.
I have looked into Frontier, Frontier doesn't have full 4 doors.
Xterra mpg 16/22 still consumes too much gas imo (but was the closest car), that also rules out Pathfinder 2004-2015
There are some recent changes in the full size truck market, Ford planned 10-speed(2017), Dodge teams with their contractor ZF for an 8-speed, both compromised acceptible fuel economy. Chevrolet AFM is a fiasco yet they planned an 8-speed for Silverado.
Also, Titan is the only full size truck that doesn't have a V6. Toyota had their 4.0 Titan, Ford had 2.7 & 3.5 F-series, Dodge had Pentastar Ram.
What is the possibility for VQ40 8-speed happen on Titan in the next 5 years?
