I've been dealing with a few dealers on a QX56. I am looking at the BMW X5, the GL450, the GX470 and the QX56. The QX is the best value. The GX470 is out due to the new body style in 09-10. X5's too expensive for the options/engine. I have an 525 now. The GL450 is too expensive. Infiniti shows to be bringing out a new model in 09-10 too now (I saw on here).

I got an offer on a 2008 QX for $49800 ($52825 list). This includes base + tow package (after market). Invoice is approx $48300. I'm thinking its too high.

I was offered a demo with 4000 miles for $50400 off of $55765 list. The discount assigned for 4000+ miles is $1150 in that $50400. I think $1100 off for 4000 miles is too little.

Your thoughts?

I'm getting a QX within the next month or so....my goal is to get within a couple hundred of invoice and then take off whatever incentives that Infiniti is offering at that time. I have the luxury of not "having" to get this by any predetermined deadline. I'm also planning to play several dealers off of each other.

Good luck and let us know what you end up getting!

First off, totally get the '08 QX56!!!! I had an '04 QX56, and I just got my fully loaded '08 Armada about 3 weeks ago. You will love it. I think the first offer actually isn't that bad. Personally, I am not a fan of demo models, I usually stay away from them, typically you really don't get a better price by purchasing a demo, they just use that as a "story" to offer you what seems to be a slightly better price. If you are unsure of your first offer, maybe shop another dealer or two, you don't have to physically go to the dealer, but send them an e-mail about the specific QX56 that you are looking for, and be very precise about what options you want, basically you will be showing the dealer that you mean business, and that you WILL be buying, whether it is from them, or another dealers. Good luck, please keep us posted as to what you do, and of course, post some pics of the new ride when you make your decision!

I worked on them some more and with the current incentive ($1750 until tomorrow) puts me at $50 over invoice, which I think it pretty fair. Now one of them is whining that they'll make only $50 on the vehicle, but what if tomorrow's incentives add up to $2500 rebate? Does Infiniti reimburse the dealership for the rebate or does the dealership actually "sell at a loss" since they are below invoice. I'm thinking on the prior deal (1750) they are actually making a total of $1800 at the dealership. Anyone have any insight?

I say if they have the model (colors, options) you want, pull the trigger and enjoy your new ride!
