premium

The owners manual recommends at least 91 AKI (premium is 93) for peak performance.

premium is 93 depending on where you are. i've seen 91 and 92 both listed as premium in some states.

Prem. only. If you don't you will experience spark knock and a lot of carbon build up. For all of the problems that I have seen with the cheaper gas in that car, it's not worth it.

Try some of that Chevron with Techron.......everyone tells me its good gas and it seemed pretty good when I advanced my timing and put some of that stuff in.

I used 94 Octan I some what understand what higher octan does to the engine? If i am right the higher the octan rating the slower the burn rate. If you have lots of mods on your car your gas will burn faster so there for you want higher octan. Correct me if i am wrong

if you have a lot of mods like bolt-ons it will not make the air/fuel mixture burn faster. it is resistance to burning, not the speed at which it burns. the reason for the higher octane is if compression is raised. any time pressure is increased, temperature is increased as well. the increased temperatures will cause detonation because the mixture will ignite off of hot spots in the combustion chamber when it is not supposed to and it will not burn evenly either.

if you raise compression (pistons, turbo, supercharging, and the like...) or advance your timing and do not have a knock sensor, you will need the higher octane gas to prevent this since it is more resistant to burning. but in the ka24de detonation is not too much of a problem because the knock sensor will (or *should*) retard the timing to a safe level.
