I'm replacing my timing chain and all that fun stuff via http://www.courtesyparts.com, and I see that on their inventory page, they have two different items listed as "Front Cover Oil Seal," each with a different serial number and price.

Here's my question: are there two front cover oil seals on a SOHC 240sx (Febuary 1989), or are they two different brands of seals, one being better that the other.

Any :help is appreciated!

I'm pretty sure its just a brand difference.

You could always just purchase both if you're really unsure. $7.50 or so for peace of mind isn't too bad.

You need both. There are 2 oil seals that are needed behind the front cover. They're both little flattened coin like things that look like little tin cans protruding out the back with the edge rimmed with rubber. One is offset from center and the other is dead center.
