What's difference between AT Fed and MT Fed or MT Calif and AT Calif?

AT and MT refer to automatic transmission or manual transmission.

Fed and Cali refer to emissions equipment. Since California has special, ultra-strict emissions standards that are different from the federal standard the rest of the country uses, there are two different versions of some Maxima generations. Cali-spec cars have additional emissions equipment that keeps them eligible for registration that state.
