what's the difference between SR20DET S13 red and black top engine?

what's the difference between SR20DET S13 red and black top engine, i am planning on getting the engine from totaljdm.com, has anyone ever order an engine from totaljdm.com, can i get a better price for a sr20det s13 red top from any other palce? also i am planning on putting this engine in a 91 240 hatch

i dont know about totaljdm. knew someone who ordered a b16 from them. came with wrong shift linkage, wrong ecu, and 3rd gear grinds. it tooks weeks just to get in touch with them. supposedly the new ecu is on the way, and they just gave him 200 bucks back for the messed up trans. still, this is unsatisfactory. you get what you pay for i guess. this has been a headache for him. hope it doesnt happen to u too.

Basically theres 2 version of the blacktop S13. Theres the 94-96 which is exactly the same thing as a redtop in everyway with a couple of minor exceptions (eg: fat O2 vs narrow O2 sensor) 97/98 has more things different to it that the older version...mostly sensors and ECU has different pin outs.

THe diff. is HP the red top has less hp than the blacktop but only by about 25 hp. Thats just about the only diff. The gear ratio's are also higher in the blacktop

SO what about hp they can put out? Can the black top handle more Hp on stock internals? whats the transmission give up at?
