1) You're right, I don't understand and that's as much a function of me not wanting to, as it' never "interested" me enough to learn. But I only give my close friends a hard time about it, cause it's fun busting their chops

2) Sorry for my vague statement, but I was referring to how some teams set up for short runs and expect to either get out front and hope they can hold their lead as the tires/set up fades. While others set up for the longer runs hoping cautions want slow the filed and allow the other guys to get fresh tires every 30-5 laps.
3) You have a point there, that's higher than race bikes
