ok. If I get a Q with an active suspension that has been taken care of, what is the big deal? I have read a few posts that people with active want the standard suspension. how bad could it really be. i mean yea 800 buvks for the parts and labor a little more to have it changed over, but is the active wirth it if it was taen care of. And if the active suspension work like it should, what are the benefits and draw backs of it. Never driven on, but my car is in need of a right rear axle, I am going to just keep it as a project car and get the Q45A I found in Georgia from a reputble dealer. Any Advice? Palmer, Sopadop, Azhitman.

Just costs more to keep running. Benefits are a superb ride, and it was the favorite of all magazines when it appeared.

Texasoil is a valuable resource for accumulators and knowledge as he has two Q45a models.

Just read a post on the FA board from a present 2002 Q45 Premium owner and an ex 1993 Q45a owner wishing for a return of the active option. Infiniti was ahead of MB and BMW, now they are behind. I believe most of the Presidents sold in Japan were indeed active.

There are very few people (including dealer techs) who are knowledgable enough to bring the system back to its original performance. It would be a great project car for someone with the time, money, and patience. (Not many people have all three!)

Plus you have to have access to a Consult with the special active card to do anything diagnostic.........the active itself has more ecu processing power than the engine computer.

I have been closely following this for some time. And I decided I really like the active. As has been pointed out earlier, an equivalent to that suspension is only avalable in 2000 or new MB S and CL class (none less than $90K).

Once stuff goes wrong it can be expensive but we have the above mentioned great resource here (texasoil).

Benefits: A great stable ride/handling combo.

Imagine being able to combine instananeously the uncompromising sports suspension attributes of a M5 with a reasonably comfortable ride.

The early "a"'s up to, 93 are tuned more towards sport where as the 94+ "a"s are biased a bit towards comfot but still offer a lot of control.

When braking the is no suqat to speak of (just an ever si slight amount to give you a snese of braking) no other large car (except perhaps teh 00+ MB S and CL) has that kind os ability.

Also its harder for the cops to tell if you are braking hard.very very little lean just enough to help you out to get a sense of what teh car is doing.

Hardly any squat at all, during even the hardest WOT acceleration.

Only disadvantages:adds about 200 lbs of curb weight (I will double check number and edit as necccessary).Increased complexity for maintenance.

Well guys, for $5500 I am going to win this car and I am going to love this car. I contacted the Dealer in Roswell. They also own a **xus dealership, a Porsche dealership, as well as a nissand and Infiniti dealership. The gentleman, Randy, told me that the car was driven by an older gentle man who wanted to buy a new Q45. I So well his loss. I hope I win, and TexasOIL Where are you. I would so appreciate it

Attaboy CA - To hell with the critics, besides - You can always earn more $$$!

I'm gonna take 3 weeks off in the spring and sell Acura's at my buddy's dealership to earn some extra scratch for my Q habit...

It's gonna suck trying to keep myself from sending people down the street to drive a new G35...

Oh well, we all gotta have something to ask forgiveness for...

Well guys I lost. I've hat=d it. I tried to get my final bid in a minute before the auction ended and it wouldn't let me. I have had it. Screw my car, I'm taking it to the junk yard on monday, and heck with Infiniti. It has been so nice knowing you all, and as you can tell I am a sore looser. Chances are you will no longer hear from me. That's it. I am so ahting life right now. Good luck with all of your cars and have a happy new year. I'm going to get a Toyota Avalon. Screw it all. Bye all

NOOOOOO! Marlon, if you read this, E-me off-board.

I promise I won't try to talk you out of ditching the Q if you'll consider offering some parts to the NICO crew (and myself).

Hell, for what a yard will pay you, I'm sure you could make a few other Q owners REAL happy - or SELL it cheap to a NICO guy....?

PLEASE consider this - we'll miss you.
