What's the best and safest car wash and wax kit for my EX?

I just got my Moonlight White EX last week and would like to get good car wash soap and wax for her. I noticed that bugs have dirtied my front bumper and side mirrors. Any suggestions? Also, are there any products that I should stay away from that may harm the space age self-healing paint?

I personally like Eagle-1, Mothers or Meguiar’s products for general use. Get a good/soft sponge/mit and a couple buckets too.

For the first wax, use Dawn dish detergent to wash the car (only use this before waxing because it will remove all wax from the paint....for regular washings, use a regular car wash soaps) and then clay-bar the car to make sure everything is off it. Then do a couple layers of a sealer (allowing 8-24 hours inbetween layers is preferred) and follow that with a good wax layer.

When I detail my cars for show I use Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze (similar to Meguiars #7) for the sealant layers and then follow those with Meguiars Gold Class carnuba wax. With older cars I use Klasse All-in-one (cleaner/polish) or Sonus products (SFX-1 restorer which is similar to Meguiar's M84, SFX-2 Enhancer which is similar to Meguiar's M2 and then SFX-3 which is a swirl remover) before I use any sealant glazes on the car.

As far as the "healing paint" I am not sure. Guess I should also check into that as my G has it too....

I've heard too many bad stories about Zaino and white cars I will surely stay away from it. You also need many coats of it to really create a good shield which is the same thing I'm acomplishing with the products I use plus mine can get rid of imperfections and swil marks as well

How about Zymol and Griots car wax and wash kit? Anyone try these brands? Zymol has been around for a while but is super expensive. Griots has a kit that is advertised in magazines and comes with a power buffer. I also saw a few waxes and wash kits at the New York car show.I forget the brands ( they also sell the same kits on QVC) but the applications looked very simple.

I noticed the one above... and I do appreciate that we'd like to have controls on the usage of them and of course the size... BUT I WANT ONE !!!

well, fortunately not everyone's car is white

I guess you haven't used Zaino much (if at all) then. For one, it doesn't take many coats anymore....that is old school. Second, it hides swirl marks (nothing "removes them" except for a orbital buffing....but I have scratch shield so moot point).

Zaino is consistently voted the most durable polish out there. I've washed my other cars after months and you could still feel the Zaino.
