Car: 2006 S4 - considering Q45 after lease end

Post

HI folks,

I'm nearing the end of my lease on an audi, and am considering a 2004 M45.

I'm wondering if you folks could help me out by answering whatever questions you can:

1. Trying to ascertain the average maintenance costs (oil changes, general upkeep).2. How much are the "scheduled" maintenance(s) on the car, Tune Ups, etc - do they recommend 30K, 60K, etc?3. What's the reliability of the car(s) with higher mileage? I'm hoping to find a car similar to a "honda" that will run forever, and have some nice power such as the M (I have a 2006 Audi S4 - maintenance costs are killer!)4.What are the most common problems, and how would I know if a car I'm looking at has those issues?5. Would you buy another one?

Thank you all!

Stieger

hmmm. that is a loaded question my friend, but lets start with the so called "30K Maint" $600 >:/

the synthetic oil change is $85

The common problem question is based on owner experience, but me/myself; I haven't had any issues except for a squeaky driver seat, but Im only at 29250 miles.

Quote »What's the average maintenance costs on a 2003-04 M45?
I have a thread with values from the local Infiniti dealer ... yes, these cars are not inexpensive to maintain, unfortunately, but not bad at all for a luxury line!

Quote »the synthetic oil change is $85
I do it a bit differently. 6 quarts of Mobil 1 0W-40 from a local Kragen is just over $38 (including tax), the filter and crush washer (don't forget that!) from Joe Tsensky at http://www.everythinginfiniti.com is just over $5 or so (if you buy 6 at a time), and the local Goodyear place charges me $12 or so for the oil and filter change.

Minimal scheduled mainteance is low whereas extraordinary super maintenance to extend the life of components beyond and way beyond warranty will be higher.

Tires, brakes, shocks, belts, rubber items [a few hundred] are in a separate consumables class!!!!!!!!

Historically we don't have much data due to low sales volume and limited mileage <100k.

We just have little data on which things fail at 100k,120k, 150k
