Hi, everyone, I am new to this forum and I'm seeking information on how to value a 1984 300zx that was given to us by my mother-in-law. We are interested in selling it but I don't really know where to start with setting a price on it. I have a couple friends who have expressed interest and I'd like to keep it fair without gouging them or selling myself short.

Any suggestions on a more-or-less ballpark figure?

The car is in very good condition, one owner, garage kept.
76k miles
Non-turbo
Cloth seats
All original equipment, no modifications
No rust
All maintenance records

I've looked around at some sites and have seen these listed at a very wide range of prices, from $2k to $30k. Can this be narrowed down somehow? Where would you begin figuring out a sale price if you were like me and didn't know much about these cars or what they are worth?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Auto or Manual? That will help determine where you should be. Check the previous sales of Z31s on Bringatrailer.com to get an idea. If its in good shape you may be in the mid teens. If its pristine/showroom you could be reaching as high as $30k with the right buyer. If your friends are looking to flip it, chances are it will end up on BaT anyway.

Thank you for the tip! It's a manual transmission

Sorry this forum can be very slow, I think due to lack of turbo and leather interior your worth a bit less but for sure at least 10k. I have a GLL (leather digital package) but non-turbo and I have a declared value of 10k with Haggery insurance. It is probabyl worth a big more but I have 174k on the car but I have rehabbed everything and the digital stuff all works perfectly.
