I'm thinking of getting a set of wheels for my Q, it's hub diameter is 72mm it says. What's the hub diameter for Q, and would it fit? Thanks

If you go with these, make sure you get quality hub rings to compensate for the difference.

I see 66.1 mm quoted often.

The New Wheels FAQ in the Wheels/tires forum here at NICO zerothread?id=81407 says the Nissan/Infiniti standard is 66.06mm - which rounds to 66.1mm to the nearest tenth mm.

im pretty sure that 1/2 of a mm is meaningless...

Hubcentric rings are not needed if you tighten the lugs in stages... Load is not on the hub at any time, it is just there os you center the wheel on the lugs... if you tighten the wheels when the wheel is off the ground and then do final torquing, you wont run into any issues.

You are correct, 60.06mm. Rounding is for the imprecise.

So, I need to get a ring that's 5.94 mm thick if the wheel has 72 mm hub diameter as the seller claims? Where can I get these? Thanks!

Reputable wheel retailers include them, stems and lugs in the wheel package. There are after market avaiable, but best to go with the wheel manufacturer. I would be uneasy with plastic, and only a little less so wiht nylon. Metal would have to not be conducive to reacting with the wheel.

again the hubcentric rings do not bear any loads once the lug nuts are tightened... So it really doesnt matter what theyre made out of, they only have to hold the wheel up while you put the lugs on..

Probably very true! Heck, a piece of dirt could account for that.

Hmmm ... although I am not an expert, I'd very concerned about this, Wes! It would be too easy to have the wheel be a bit off-center and have vibration problems, leading to hub bearing wear, etc.

I'd rather get a wheel to fit properly in the first place.

Wes is correct, as long as the each wheel is tightened incrementally in the correct pattern and final torque is applied before the wheel bears any weight.

But good luck getting that kind of service at your local tire shop.

.5mm would be critical if relying on the rings to center the wheel on the hub.
