I have an Altima SE-R. From what I can tell it has the same internals and block as the 350z. Why do I have 27-40 less hp than the z? What gives?

SE-R shouldn't have a problem with exhaust. I 'think' it's the same size as the 350. Intake is a possibility but I haven't seen any compatible with the SE-R, just SE's. What's keeping me from the 287hp models? And what's the difference between the 350z's with 287hp and the newer models with 300hp?

Sounds like I've got some untapped potential here. Thing is, all of the aftermarket part's I've seen for the '05 Altima's say not applicable for SE-R models.

Right...I'm talking about the SE-R, not SE. I know there's a thread about the SE. The SE-R is apparently different since all parts I've seen say they're not compatible with the SE-R, like I said in the original post.

The SE and SER are the same just because nissan made the exhaust manifold and the downpipe different it doesn't mean anything.

The dyno for a SER 215 The dyno for an SE 210

What holds back this car the most is tuning the 350Z is better tuned get intake headers and exhaust and then tune it and you will produce the same HP that a 350Z does.
