Hi,
I bought a new-to-me 2018 Rogue SV (push button start, if that matters). I noticed that it idles high when starting up -- around 1250 RPM. The AC is off and its 80 degrees outside. The last two Nissans (Maxima & Sentra) I've owned idled high at start up but it was after i put 100K miles on them and the RPMs would settle down to ~500 - 750 after a minute or two. The Rogue seems to stay high until I drive around for a bit. It settles down a little but it is a little concerning.
I replaced the engine air filter on it (it was filthy!) and I noticed that one of the black plastic clips (closest to the filter) is broken/missing from the air housing unit. I did not break it but I was amazed how lightweight the duct was. The metal clips to the air filter case are both secure but there is a tiny gap where the broken clip was. Would that have anything to do with it?
Thanks!
