I finaly got my car back, not really as fast as I had thought for a turbo car to be. Seems like my turbo only starts to make boost after 4000 rpm, is this normal for the sr. It's set at 7psi but when I drive normaly my boost gauge shows that my at negative 10 psi. I am also having the idle issue it bounces from 1000 to 2000 this was only after I drove it for like 150 highway miles. The person who did my swap said there was a wire that was missing which caused this, but have never heard of this wire before. How would I check for vacume leaks, how would I know if something was leaking.

Yeah your having a problem with your wastegate signal somewhere, or, your not producing a good combustion via timing being retarded too much, bad ignition, or your having an intake leak.

If you had an intake leak you would have a high idle that fluctuated due to the ECU trying to compensate by opening/closing the IACV valve. Timing also can change your idle if it's hunting all over the place.

You should be getting spool-up by at least 3200 rpms, if you have full exhaust and intake there is no reason you shouldn't be getting full boost by about 3000 rpms.

Verify your wiring, check all vacuum hoses that are plumbed into the intake manifold.

yah. Sounds like you have a vacuum/boost leak.

Timing is HUGE too!

Once you get it dialed in, it will be fast like a turbo car should be. It seems like you have some sort of vacuum leak.

How would I check for a vacume leak? I just put in my fmic today, but i don't have the pipe that goes into the intake manifold is there any place that I could maybe get one.

Would a 2inch pipe be ok to run 14psi?

I think it's called a cold pipe or something, the pipe that takes the air into the manifold after the intercooler.
