S11 & S110 Introduced 1979.Nissan's flirtation with Rotary engines. Only a handful ever produced.

Production continued as the S110 with a conventional piston engine. (designation unknown - any takers?). According to Alan Marr, the Nissan rotary was a 1000cc twin-rotor design. With a 4 barrel carburettor, it was similar to the 10A Mazda engine

Like the CSP311, it was exported in limited numbers as the Nissan 1600 Coupe

The S110 had an FJ20E when sold in Japan as a Silvia and a 100HP Z20E (twin plug) when sold in North America as a 200SX, swapping to the 102HP Z22E in 1980

This doesn't change the fact that I want a S13 Silvia convertible..... mmmmmmmm-mmmmm drop top JDM goodness

My S13 will soon have mirrors like that.

Almost every major auto manufacturer experimented with rotaries back in the day. Chevy had a Corvette and Ford had a Galaxy and Mustang that were rotary testers as well. But no body got it to work until Mazda came up with the internal lubrication system.

Are you seriously going to put fender mirrors on your S13? That's awesome...

Anyway, so the part I wasn't clear on was.....was it ever sold in the United States with the rotary? Cause if so, I'll take one

before I go and check, the link in my post is where I got all the info...let's go check now!

*edit* S10 sold in US as 200SX with L20B

S110, still the 200sx, but they're unclear as to wether the S11(rotary) was sold in the US...I'd hazard to guess that it was.

S14-Export models had two or three levels depending on the destination. All get SR20DET as the only engine choice, except for North America, which received the KD24DE only.

that's sad....

I was thinking of doing the same thing too, old skool roll's royce mirrors work perfect, but I didn't know how clean they would look - kinda ruins the body line. But functionally, they should help out great as long as no one/nothing touches your mirrors.

Yeah...looking into motorcycle mirrors, or old TE27 mirrors....Also looking into Wats and rivet on flares. Solid.

YEp. Lubricating the apex seal is one of the big issues. Seems that the Chevy had lots of issues with carbon lock. Go figure.

Believe it or not the AMC Pacer was originally supposed to be a FWD rotary, using a rotary engine developed by GM.

I can't see the pics anymore, but I'm assuming it's going to have mirrors like on some 240Z's or old Jaguar E-Types? If so, I'll be very interested to see how it looks on a 240SX.
