If possible make sticky. For everyone who has done the Z32 brake conversion with the 5 lug setup please post what rim you are using and also state what size the brakes are 26mm 30mm. It will help people who are getting ready to do the swap have a better idea on what works and what doesn't. Also it will prevent a really expensive mistake like the one I just made :(

My setup 26mm Z32 brakes S14 SE rims work and Z32 rims work (with a 5mm spacer).

Found out the hard way that ASA LS5 RIMS 16 x 7 (42mm offset is the only offered) Will not work on z32 26mm brakes :(

this will help people so let them know what you did and how well it works (used spacer, or bolts right up etc.)

well if you've got Z32 brakes, you'd think to at least have the same offset as the S14 rims or the Z32 rims...i'd say a +30 or less just because you have an S14...my rims are a +39 and they hardly clear STOCK brakes, but i have spacers on the way to take care of that...

it also depends on the design of the rim

but if the offset is high you're almost assured it won't fit

get a lower offset plus it looks cooler too

This is a good thread.

Cuz I'm gonna need wheels, and I want to know what to buy. I imagine that DSM wheels with their FWD offset would not even come close to clearing, but who knows?

I also can imagine that a 3000GT/Stealt R/T 17" wheel will definitely clear, as they had the 4 piston sumimoto caliper just like the Z, only with an inch larger rotor. So if a 3KGT wheel doesn't clear the brakes, then I live in some crazy parallel universe. Now, clearance of the shock tower is another story, as the offset is +46mm.

Grrrrrr.

Do Z32 wheels clear the fender/suspension?

And what about Z31 wheels? the 87-89 turbo wheels are 16X7 with an offset of +30. In english measurement, that translates to an UGxLY size with a +Nausea offset.

But despite their looks, I'll need winter wheels and they're probably piss-cheap.

I was thinking of picking up z31 wheels, and testing to see if they'll fit. the z31 turbo wheels that you speak of are in 5-lug, the 84-85 NA 4-luggers were 15x6.5 +30, I'm not sure if they'll clear the brakes though..

I am pretty sure the z32 wheels will not clear without a spacer due to the 7.5" width on +45 offset.

Z32 rims are what im currently running and the clearance sucks you do need 5mm+ spacers and they clear the brakes by 1cm and my coilovers by 1mm  (reason for looking for better rims)

crzycav86, if u were asking me, i'm running BBS RK 17x8 +39 offset ...but i have 30mm spacers so it's effecitively +9 offset...is this normal for my wheels to be that flush? lol maybe this guy that i bought it from put wide fenders on or somethin...the whole front end was unpainted when i got it...yeh, sketchy i know, and he said "no accidents" :rolleyes...

I fell your pain, I too am on a quest to know what wheels clear the z32 brakes or in my case s14 silvia K's brakes which are identical to 30mm z32 brakes

I just have semi stock S14se wheels on my 5lug S13 with z32 calipers and it all seems to work fine. Clears my coilovers too. In need of wider rims and rubber though.
