Just wandering what everyone else would run my block should be back from the machine shop this week, and i was just wandering should i go with a 1.5mm headgasket with 8.5-1 pistons or should i go 1.5mm headgasket and 9.0-1 pistons??? I will be running some good boost on the motor so im thinking about going with the 1.5mm & 8.5-1 pistons, but i could also go 1.1mm headgasket and 8.5-1 pistons the motor will be fully built and im trying to get 450-500hp, just wandering what everyone thinks, any help will be greatly appreicated...

I have 8.5:1 CP pistons and a 1.5mm Cosworth head gasket. I heard the stock head gasket was 1.1mm (crushed), and of course stock stock compression is 8.5. So I figured after decking the head and block I would be pretty close back to the stock compression if I went with the 1.5mm hg.

Im not running yet put I plan on 300+ hp. I am planning on a good amount of boost too, so I wasn't worried about an extra 0.4mm on the head gasket

That sounds like a good setup...if you need a set of 8.5 CP pistons I have a new set for 450 shipped....just letting you know.

I run CP 9.0 pistons and an Apexi 1.5mm HG. Still boosting 18-19psi on 93 octane.

I think im gonna go with 8.5-1 pistons and either 1.5mm or 1.8mm apexi headgasket, since im gonna be throwing alot of boost at it..
