Im not 100% sure but I think it has to do w/smog related stuff. So you should probaly save on a raidator. im sure someone has a better anwcer.

PS got to love that new spell check.

You can replace anything that does not directly affect the ability of the pollution controls to do their job. So changing vacuum lines or fuel lines to hard lines would be ok. Changing the FPR would not be ok. Changing a radiator would be ok. Altering a thermostat would not (technically, but who can tell?) be ok. You get the idea. If in doubt, feel free to call the shop where you plan to get it smogged and ask them before you buy the part you are looking at.

Going by your location, if you live in arizona, it shouldn't matter if any parts on your car are CARB certified or not. CARB only applies to california.

Yeah Arizona is nothing like the smog nazi's they have in Cali. I pass emissions with a 96 JWT ecu, I, H , E, high flow cat. I am driving an obdII 98 as well. Only worry about carb if you live in Cali or some other emissions restricted area.

Most common CARB certified parts on the market today are Intake systems and Exhaust systems. Hope this helps...

ok here is the link the CARB's LEGAL aftermarket parts list its kinda hard to navigate, because they did a crappy job on the site. But you can search by part or by EO number.
