what parts do the ka and sr share??

hi... first post

just wondering what parts they share so if i go modding it out and later want to swap to an sr, maybe i could keep some parts

Exhaust and short shifter.

That's about it.

KA intake won't fit a turbo car.

Header...that's obvious.

ECU...of course not.

Cams, no. Clutch, NO.

Etc, etc...

damn that sucks

guess exhaust wouldnt be that good either since for a turbo id want like a 3 inch and a 3 inch will be way too much for a NA 4 banger

There are people who would argue that a 3in is not to big for the ka24de and have dyno sheets to back up that argument. I wouldn't know for sure. Search around this forum and you might be able to find a bit more info. Also from what I have heard, 3in on a NA is a loud, but then that depends on each individual exhaust.

3" is GOOD for a KA, even non-turbo.

It's a relatively large 4-cyl, and has a TERRIBLE stock exhaust...and as "vvafle", people have seen as much as 16rwhp increase with exhaust alone, with no loss in low end TQ.

Big exhaust is NOT bad for all motors, don't believe the hype.

I once read SR injectors (and maybe the fuel rail, I don't remember) can be used on a KA.

When I researched what size exhaust I should get I got the idea that 2 1/4" was best, so that's what I got. Since then I have seen TONS of info backing up the argument that 3" is better. Figures, right?
