What part is this

I need help identifying this part. While driving my right lower control arm broke on my 2000 Nissan Altima. When that part broke another part also broke . I don't what it is but it came from the wheel area also. I would greatly appreciate if anyone with the slightest idea, can tell me so I can order the part and fix it. Great day in the morning! That is a "half shaft." It's what delivers the power from the transmission to the drive wheel on that side.

With that sort of destruction, there's a good chance your transmission took a hit too. Take it to a competent, professional mechanic for evaluation and repair. It's going to hurt, I guarantee.
