Thanks, are there any repercussions if I tear it out? Or even bypass it to clean up a bit?

probably get a check engine code for it, but performance wise nothing should change.

The ECU doesn't even know if it's there or not. You will get a faint wiff of gas fumes occasionally, but otherwise you'll be fine. My car hasn't had one in 10 years. Leave the line open, though. It is part of the tank venting system.

Its only put there for smog purposes you dont need any of it
