What part is this? 89 nissan pickup z24

I have a 1989 NIssan 4 Cylinder Z24 pickup and I need to know the name of a part is making a sort of gurgling noise.

If you look at the picture in the link below it is the part that is directly in front of the window washer fluid reservoir. It's the circular shaped one, only about half of it is showing. I can't find a better picture of it online and can't figure out how to upload a picture off of my phone onto this message haha.

Any info on the part and what the gurgling sound means would be appreciated.

No actually the part in front of it seems to be making the noise.

AIV box.Those things seem to attract moisture and eventually rust out.

Thanks for the reply. Are these things tough/worth it to replace? Or should I just try to clean it out a bit?

Where do you live? If you're in a smog state, I'd at least try to get it cleaned up a bit so it'd pass visual inspection, unless the truck is exempt. Otherwise, I'd pull it.

I'm in CA so I do have smog but don't have to do the test for a little over a year. I guess I'll just clean it out before I have to take it in next time. In the meantime, is it a big deal it is not in good shape? Does it have a impact on anything like mpgs?

I appreciate your help. As you can probably tell I am far from a car expert haha
