What other inexpensive Modifications are there for the EX?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

i am running out of ideas to modify my EX35. almost modified everything i wanted. interior lights, exterior lights, rims.

Does any one know any other inexpensive modifications i can do on my EX35? i dont want to mod the engine or do anything that risk the warranty. i also want to keep it inexpensive nothing major unless it way worth it. i looked into tints and body kit but i dont think its worth the money. tint $200, body kit $1500.

so if any one has any ideas please tell me

K&N filters. That is on my list once the current ones need changing.

the problem with tints is that i have heard stories from my friend who regret getting tints. they look nice but at night its way to dark to see especially when you are parking.

Well number one you get used to it haha its like driving in a cave at night but it's amazing in the hot Arizona sun in the day time... No one at ALL can see you which is great if you ever drive like an A-Hole.

at night it's a little bit of an annoyance but as i said you get used to it... and my car has such bright headlights that it compensates for the entire tinted windshield

As to it being illegal: Yes it is slightly... az state law allows a max of 33%tint on your front sides with anything you want in the back and nothing is allowed on the windshield...

I get around this by having a Dr.'s prescription for my front and windshield tint and bought myself a 100-club sticker to prevent being pulled over.

Another bonus to the windshield tint is no photo radar tickets due to the fact that your face is a dark shadow he he

I need to agree. I spent $210 for all 5 windows and it makes the vehicle look totally different.....in a good way. I have 35% in back and 50% up front to keep it legal in my state. I have not noticed a difference in visibility.

Here's a cheap Mod !

You could wrap your whole Car in those ugly LED Light Strips (mentioned in another thread).

That would help you at Night while using really dark Window Tint.

Rio, could you give more info about your "+2 Mod"? I assume you mean advancing the engine ignition timing? Was there a noticeable performance improvement from that? Did the dealer do it for you for free? Are there any disadvantages to it? (I read somewhere that it increases torque at lower RPM, but decreases torque at higher RPM?)

I had my Dealer do it kinda under the table ( Slipped my service advisor a 50)

They electronically advanced my engine's timing 2*

Guys I must say this is a HAVE TO HAVE mod.... The difference in low end power delivery is huge... Much more torque and power... i have yet to dyno it but there is a huge difference in power... My guess (and i've timed it around this) is that with my other mods... listed below is that my 0-60 time is now in the mid to hi 5's

The only disadvantage ( not to me ) if you're a cheep one is that you MUST burn premium but other then that if anything it has improved my fuel economy

And no the Hi RPM power does not at all suffer due to the fact that the engine's control unit automatic retards the timing at super hi RPM so there is no loss in that range.

Please feel free to ask anything else you would like to know.

PS:

Ill put it this way... Ive raced a few g35's and g37's Both coupe's and sedans and have yet to lose a race to hte next stoplight so yes it did indeed make a significant gain in performance

I have to AGREE. You must tint your car. I felt naked driving without a tint

for 2 weeks after getting my car.
