Does anyone know what other differentials will bolt up to the Q45 subframe?

I know that there are several Nissan/Infiniti vehicles ( J30, 300zx NA ) that use the R200v differential also.

But what differences are there between these models (ABS sensors, output flanges, etc.) ? Will any of them work w/ the Q ?

Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

the 300ZXTT diff fits as well.It kinda depends whether your Q45 is a TCS or not, wether its a bolt on or not.

Fred...:)

Fred,

Doesn't the 300zx TT use the R230v? If so, is it the same dimensions as the R200v on the Q45?

My car is the base model ( no TCS).

90-96 300ZX TT and n/a BOTH use the R200. The n/a has the 4.08 (desireable) gearing.

J30 and 240sx rear diffs will fit (I think) but there are too many variables with the flanges and output shafts (ABS, non-ABS, etc).

90-96 300ZXn/a is the best bet as it is a straight swap.

Hitman,

When you say that the R200 from the Z32 na is a straight swap into the Q, what about the ABS sensors?

On the base Q45, the reluctor is on the driveshaft flange of the diff.

On the 300zx na differentials I have seen, the ABS reluctors are on the halfshaft flanges ( one on each side ).

Helps to have to have TCS or active suspension. Besides speed sensor gearing, who knows what else you would have to change?

Good question - I'm gonna move this where it'll get more input, as I don't know the answer... :(

on the N/A differential in the Z32, the abs sensors are on the halfshaft flanges. However on the TT Z32 the abs sensor is on the driveshaft flange.

Another option would be an R32 skyline GTS-T differential which is an RS200. In essence, it is a 1.5 way limited slip differential with a R200 carrier and ring set. it measures about 1" larger than the normal R200.

So I'm gonna have some modifications to do if I swap the Z32n/a diff into the Q?

This is the first I've heard of any differences... :(

actually, I just talked to Nissan here in town. only the 93 Z32 N/A had the sensors on the half shafts. So that's good news.

OK - So a 90-92 or a 94-96 Z32 n/a rear diff will be a direct swap.

Good news indeed. The ones I'm finding are all 94-96. :D

that's my understanding.the dealer said that in March of 93 they changed to the single sensor on the driveshaft input. and since he's got a 94 Z32, I believe him ;)

It seems that every differential I have seen on Ebay has the sensors on the output flanges.

I am wondering if the hole to install the ABS sensor is present on the case.

If so, then the only thing needed is to swap in the companion (input) flange from the base model w/out TCS.

Any ideas?
