My compressor seized the other day, so needless to say me and my mechanic friend are gonna be placing my compressor and drier this weekend. . He's bringing his vacuum pump and manifold gauge over but told me to pick up the R-134a and oil. I checked my owners manual and all it says is use "Nissan A/C system oil Type R or the exact equivalents". Also checked the FSM and it says the same thing but gives me part # KLH00-PAGR0. Would anyone happen to know what the equivalent would be? Looking at the part # it leads me to believe its a PAG oil not Ester "correct me if I'm wrong" But doesn't give and hints towards a viscosity. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I was under the impression it was in the refrigerant containers.

If not, the auto shop should have the correct type for your recharge...

ester is a form of pag oil. ester is supposedly recommended by most, including myself. regardless ofwhat you use, they'll both lubricate system. just make sure you do add some or you'll seize the compressor again

Ester and PAG are not the same. Ester is POE. Most 134a systems use PAG from the factory. I believe yours should use PAG 100, but I'll see if I can verify that.
